[edit]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Roleplay Online. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. ukexpat (talk) 19:25, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Will be glad to comply with official Wikipedia request. However due to the nature of wikipedia, it is impossible to tell exactly from where these rwquests are coming. Please email, so I can verify that the email originates from wikipedia and not an author in the dispute.

[edit]

Your recent edits could give editors of Wikipedia the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that this is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a genuine dispute with the Community or its members, please use dispute resolution. Ward3001 (talk) 19:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Roleplay Online. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Ward3001 (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Test

[edit]

Only on my page can I edit. I think autoblock is still on

That may have done it. Try now. Gwen Gale (talk) 01:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that did it thanks. Can I make comments on the deletion discussion page or is this for the editors?

Yes you can edit anywhere but if someone disagrees with you, don't worry about it, don't edit war and be polite :) Gwen Gale (talk) 02:02, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your question

[edit]

AfDs run for 5 days. Gwen Gale (talk) 13:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So if a whole group of RPoLer's wait until Sunday to post their comments, say 5-20 and out vote the Wikipedists, all of whom seem to believe the article has no merit, what happens? Do Wikipedia guidelines prevail or does the "will of the people?"Dcholtx (talk) 11:45, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not a democracy. This isn't a altogether a "vote" and I wouldn't say it's between Wikipedians and anyone else. The AfD will be closed based on the strength of the comments made as to how all this fits into Wikipedia policy. Also, comments from IPs and new users (with limited contributions) will tend to carry less weight than comments from experienced editors. Gwen Gale (talk) 12:48, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
WOW! I am impressed. Let me tell you a little bit about who you have impressed. I was Tom Truscott's officemate when he was at Duke University. Tom did a summer internship at Bell labs in the 70's, he return with a 12" mag tape with uucico program on it. Usenet was started when Tom and our UNC counterparts wanted to send email and files back and forth. It was joint program at the time, only way to reach critical mass in Computer Science. I was the 2nd admin for phys (later phys.duke.edu, the Physiology Department), the 3rd site on Usenet. Email was store and forward, usually after 11 PM when phone rates went down. There was no domain name service (DNS), mail and files where routed by the path of machines you needed to get there (dch@duke!chico!harpo!groucho). I was there in 1984, when the US Dept of Defense, divided ARPAnet into Milnet and their civilian contractors and Usenet into the Internet. I've lived through and was an early adopter of Archie, Veronica, Gopher, Ferret, Cern server, Mosaic, before I was able to return professionally to my more biological educational roots. Since about 1992, I've been more involved in the Human Genome project and ncbi.nlm.nih.gov was the principle site I visited for 10 years.
Well I'm not Al Gore, so I didn't invent the Internet, but in some small way I hope I have contributed to it's development. To see a community site like Wikipedia, leaves me somewhat awestruck. Great job! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.57.253.205 (talk) 14:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
