A tag has been placed on Selling Power, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A tag has been placed on Selling Power, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Selling Power and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jujutacular (talk) 23:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Articles in Wikipedia have to show how the subjects are notable by Wikipedia's criteria. The article as written was promotional in nature, with sentences such as "Selling Power® Magazine provides rich sales content to its readers, with insight from key thought leaders in the industry. It delivers the best advice on creating sales success – from the best selling skills, the best motivational techniques to advice on managing a winning sales team." A Wikipedia article should be descriptive and neutral, and contain reliable sources that provide evidence of the claims that are made; it's not supposed to look like it belongs on the company's web page. Also, the ® symbol is not supposed to appear in articles (you don't have to point out that it's a registered trademark).

If you'd like to work on an article in the meantime, you can start it in your user space (e.g. at User:Dcardiel/Selling Power) and then move it when it's ready. You can also submit it to The Drawing Board to get other editors' opinions and guidance. ... discospinster talk 23:30, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:CORP and WP:FIRST for more information about creating an article about a company.  Frank  |  talk  21:58, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}

Thanks for the help although deleting as quickly as 'Frank' does doesn't help. I need someone to review the Selling Power article. I would like to Post this information. Thanks again.

The article has been reviewed by several people and they've reached the same conclusion. Try creating it in your userspace and working on it there.  Frank  |  talk  22:15, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see you've already started that process. Please stop creating the article in the main space. It can be worked on in your user space and then we can move it if it's appropriate.  Frank  |  talk  22:22, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The biggest issue and probably first thing to do here is to establish if the company is notable in the first place. Do you have references to support that?  Frank  |  talk  22:23, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shortened but still deleted - was it even read before deleted? moving back to the user space — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dcardiel (talkcontribs) 18:24, 15 July 2009

Absolutely. It was definitely shorter, but still completely promotional in nature. I'm sorry if you feel like you're being targeted by a single editor here, but please note that three other editors placed notices on your talk page before I did, and another three admins (aside from me) have agreed and deleted the page. We are all following existing policy.  Frank  |  talk  23:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Dcardiel! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 672 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Gerhard Gschwandtner - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 06:48, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gerhard Gschwandtner has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged as unreferenced biography of a living person since July. Reads like an advert, tagged for that since June.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
