Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, dc552! I am Sindinero and have been editing Wikipedia for awhile. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I do my best to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! Sindinero (talk) 12:23, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
The Glass Bees book cover
[edit]No, this is an excellent point, and thanks for taking the effort to look into this. Admittedly, copyright law is not one of my more developed skill sets. I've removed the image from the article, nominated the Wikimedia Commons image for deletion, and uploaded the image onto Wikipedia using fair use rationale. Hopefully that will work. Although weirdly, the cover of one of Jünger's other novels - On the Marble Cliffs - is on Wikimedia Commons, which works if public domain means 70 years after publication, but not if it means life+70. I suspect there's a lot on WC that slips through the cracks, but I agree that it's good to be legitimate about this. Sindinero (talk) 13:45, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Just learned something new - apparently, the book cover works on Wikimedia Commons because it doesn't have enough content to meet the threshold of originality. See here, at the bottom of the page. So it looks like the cover is there to stay, since my deletion nomination has been, well, deleted. Sindinero (talk) 11:12, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
