Thanks for creating the template - I had thought that I had put the rationale on the image page as well as the talk page, but never mind :) DavidFarmbrough (talk) 21:36, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
RBOC map
Thank you for your time and effort to create the fair use rationale templates for all the logos on the RBOC map. I knew full well that that's really what needed to be done, but I wasn't feeling up to the task at the time I received the notice. As far as what license the map sans-logos should exist under, I have no idea; I honestly don't care. Whatever the copyright gurus feel is best is fine with me. Thanks.—Lazytiger (Talk | contribs) 03:05, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I saw the fair use rationale in the article and didn't notice the missing article name. Good catch, I would have hated to see it wind right back up into the Images deleteion queue. DJBullfish (talk) 03:20, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
re:UK school stubs
Thanks for the explanation. If I had looked below the map I would have seen the subcategories. My first mistake was to try to choose a category from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types/Education thinking that it was a complete list. I didn't see Scotland there (which now makes sense) so I thought that UK was the closest and didn't stop to think that it had subcategories. I learned something. Thanks. Another editor has added the "{{prod}}
" template to the article Cloverly Elementary School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 11:59, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
I want to let you know that I have nominated this category which you created for deletion, after reorganizing a few related categories. Deletion discussion is here. --Eliyak T·C 22:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Invite
Hi Dbiel!
I noticed you were a member of WikiProject Education, and thought you might be interested in WikiProject Homeschooling. In this "WikiProject," we have been together working on the collaboration of Homeschooling-related articles. As a member, I really hope you can join, and let me know if you need any help signing up or with anything else. If you have any questions about the project you can ask at the project's talk page. Cheers! RC-0722 communicator/kills 23:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Rollback given
I have given you rollback because I believe you will do well helping to revert vandalism. Remember, rollback is not to be used in content disputes or on good-faith edits. You can test your rollback here. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Happy editing! bibliomaniac15 I see no changes 04:55, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Category for Educational Activities of Clubs
You removed "Education" as a category from The Gardeners of America/Men's Garden Clubs of America. Is there another category that I can add to the article indicating that TGOA/MGCA engages in activities to educate the public about gardening and landscape topics? Thanks, Lou (talk) 20:06, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have rechecked Category:Education and I am unable to find any category it would fit into. If you would like to do some more research yourself, I would start with Category:Horticultural organizations and see what additional categories are used by similar articles. Additionally you may want to post your question at Wikipedia:Village pump (assistance) or possibly Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Categories. I am still trying to learn the many features of Wikipedia myself.
- But in any case, the article definately does not belong in the parent category Category:Education. Please remember that the primary purpose of categories is to group similar articles together. Dbiel (Talk) 01:59, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't find another category that represents "educating the public about gardening". But I decided to add two new categories, Category:Urban agriculture and Category:Community building to try to cover both "gardening education" and "community beautification". These categories seem to be used in other articles for the same purpose. TGOA/MGCA also uses gardening to educate children about the natural world, and as therapy for both young and old. I considered using Category:Therapy for the latter case, but decided that wouldn't work. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks! Lou (talk) 20:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Re:Bpeps
Sorry that I didn't see your comments to Bpeps and indeed thanks for replying. I have certainly left the project under my old username. Truth be known, I have never needed to see user rights logs before (things like blocks are generally self evident by history logs) and VP (If I had it) flags warnings and blocks on user pages.
I actually thought I was doing good. Aggressive Behaviour is not a stigma which I want to carry around with me. My behaviour was bad. It was reported to WP:ANI and I stopped. I wasn't blocked, it wasn't a disruption of mainspace, I apologised and imposed a (albeit) self inposed bar on contacting the editor without firm grounds.
I requested a deletion of my user page because I really didn't understand the hostility which had surrounded me during the last 15 weeks. I would have left long before if I had have known. Stigma like agression is best played by editors with a thick skin. I don't have one and the whole thing has left me feeling very ashamed. Trust is essential as you pointed out. Stigma is very hard for editors to cast off. 172.200.5.68 (talk) 19:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- I would hope that you would not leave Wikipedia over this. Your recent edits indicate that you are a good contributor. Based on what you have written, I would suggest simply creating a new user name and starting over. The only drawback is that you will have to build a new history of edits before rollback would be granted again and you could apply for other tools like VandalProof. There is nothing wrong with starting over with a clean slate.Dbiel (Talk) 19:46, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Really Need Help!!!!!!!!
Hello Dbiel, it has been awhile since we have communicated. I really need your help. There is this user Maurice45, who has been deleting a lot of info from the articles. He has removed plot/concept of many of the television series because (the reason he writes for removing info) he says that this is all fairy tale. Well a plot/cocept is a necessary part of the television program to let viewer know what the story is about, but this user has deleted from many pages and doesn't stop. For example, following are some of the pages that he removed info from which was edited by a lot of users: Kesar, Kahiin To Hoga, Bhabhi, and many more. Can you please do something to stop this user from vandalizing!!!!!!!!!!! Please! Please! I will be really thankful for your help and your precious time. Your old wiki friend Survir (talk) 15:02, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have done some review, and at this time I do not see much that I can do. I will post a notice on his user page. I suggest that you also review the following: Wikipedia:Plot summaries Be careful not over expand the plot. Try to keep it as a concise summary. Remember that you can revert his edits if you think that they are inappropriate. Just try not to get into an edit war. Dbiel (Talk) 03:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Plot Summaries
They are only considered acceptable when they are of a certain length and quality. Certain plot summaries are overly long, contain POV and other unacceptable materials. Please take some time and review them --Maurice45 (talk) 10:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I will go over my edits and rewrite them all. Thanks for the suggestion --Maurice45 (talk) 12:31, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Why not? He is an American Lutheran and a celebrity. If Troy Aikman, and David Hasselhoff can be listed than so can Dick Bremer. If you have a problem with this, why not just delete the link? Regards --Npnunda (talk) 15:05, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

There look to be a series of these, and they are certainly non-nuetral POV edits. Would you be willing to go through and undo them? It would certainly be appropriate. Pastordavid (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

The list is at Special:ShortPages; and dabs are no different than other pages. Only redirects aren't listed, unless they are corrupt and then they too will be there. Cheers. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 06:53, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- 1000 shortest articles, updated every few days. Any under 137 bytes will be scrutinized quickly; we are trying to push this to 150 or 200 bytes, but that's 10,000s of articles to go. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 18:31, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Moses archive
Sure I don't mind explaining. I use the move method for two reasons: it's what I've always used and it results in watching the moved talk - this way, if someone vandalizes a talk archive, someone might notice. You claimed that the copy and paste method is "normal," but I don't understand what you mean by that. As far as I'm aware, neither method is more prevalent than the other. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 20:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Van Gogh
What's going on with Talk:Vincent van Gogh? Gimmetrow 01:26, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the post. It was something I thought I could fix but this need the help of an administrator. Talk:Vincent van Gogh was archived using the move method to Talk:Vincent van Gogh/Archive 1 The talk page has active threads that should not be archived. I have prepared the archive page to be moved back, but am unable to do so. Please deleted the current Talk:Vincent van Gogh and move Talk:Vincent van Gogh/Archive 1 back it back to Talk:Vincent van Gogh Thank you for your assistance Dbiel (Talk) 01:32, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Also then delete Talk:Vincent van Gogh to be deleted - Thank you Dbiel (Talk) 01:35, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Additionally Talk:Pablo Picasso/Archive 2 needs to be moved back to Talk:Pablo Picasso as Archive 1 was done cut and paste and archive 2 was done using move which them makes a mess of the history. Thank you Dbiel (Talk) 01:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Update: Talk:Vincent van Gogh has been taken care of, but am still waiting for Talk:Pablo Picasso to be deleted so that Talk:Pablo Picasso/Archive 2 can be moved back with the entire history file that also includes archive 1 Dbiel (Talk) 03:20, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Talk:Pablo Picasso
{{helpme}}
I need to get Talk:Pablo Picasso deleted so that I can move Talk:Pablo Picasso/Archive 2 back to Talk:Pablo Picasso. The page was original moved to [[Talk:Pablo Picasso/Archive 2] moving the entire history which includes the history related to Talk:Pablo Picasso/Archive 1 which was created using cut and paste method. I have added a speedy delete notice but do not know what else I can do to speed up the process so that the talk page can be restored. Dbiel (Talk) 03:13, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

About.com
{{helpme}}
Is the domain about.com considered an acceptalbe External Link for use in Wikipedia? See diff As blogs are not considered acceptable, I am not sure if about.com fits in that category (as it is not technically a blog, but it is not a valid notable source either) as many of its links are back to Wikipedia. The displayed title of the line "Learning Disabilities on About.com provides information and resources on learning disabilities for ages ranging from early childhood through adulthood." does make it clear where it comes from. This is not a article specific question but a Wikipedia wide question, since if about.com is considered an acceptable external link source, then the use in this article is more than appropriate, but it should be moved to the bottom of the list, not the first entry, which I will do now. Dbiel (Talk) 01:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I understand it, about.com is typically a mirror of other sites (sometimes including Wikipedia). It might be preferred to link to those other sites directly in some (most?) circumstances, if the relevant content is worth linking. Leaving this helpme open for more response, but feel free to close it if you like. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:35, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've yet to see any about.com content that's a mirror. If it's not mirrored, I'd say it's acceptable; the site seems to be extensive and reliable enough. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 01:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

{{WPSchools}}
Thank you for your work with template|WP:schools
I do have a question about a few other changes to be a bit more consistant with other similar templates see User:Dbiel/Category:Schools in the United States by state/work page#Templates for comparision for some examples. I am specificly talking about category pages and {{WikiProject GeorgiaUS}} seems to be one of the best I have seen so far. One additional change, not included in {{WikiProject GeorgiaUS}} Is to change the first sentence from This article is part... to This page is part... but I know that would require a major amount of programing, but the other change should not be that difficult for someone used to working on templates, but I could be wrong, as I am not one of those individuals. Thank you again for your assistance. Dbiel (Talk) 02:44, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have posted a request to fix the template which places that text ({{Cat-Class td}}) and hope it will get someone's attention. I will have a loo at making the text smarter (It's not that hard really). Adam McCormick (talk) 02:57, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Education by country
Now that we have enough articles to support more templates, {{Education by country}} has been deprecated in favor of continental templates, which don't add articles to this category. It doesn't make sense to have all the individual articles listed in Category:Education by country when they are in their respective national categories, which are themselves in Category:Education by country. I only changed the education by country template because it was on a project page, and its presence was making the project page go into the category too. Mangostar (talk) 05:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't really mind putting it back or leaving it as it is, as long as the project pages aren't in a mainspace category. Mangostar (talk) 05:16, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Dbiel, thanks for the note. Done, but it wasn't really necessary. Because they had no history, a bot (User:RedirectCleanupBot) deletes them after a short period.
