I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Ecological niche
[edit]Hi. I noticed that your edits to the ecological niche article were reverted. Please keep in mind that your contributions to Wikipedia need to be based on high-quality, reliable sources. You should be looking for scholarly sources - ideally review articles from peer-reviewed journals or books from academic publishers. You should not be relying on a random internet site like ThoughtCo. I have nothing against high school teachers, but they aren't the sort of expert on the subject of ecology we should be using on Wikipedia. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 03:31, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, I've reverted your edits again. You not only re-added the ref from the high-school teacher, "In the recent past" is not an appropriate phrase for a Wikipedia article, which is supposed to be timeless. I'm not really sure what your other edits contribute to the lead section of the article, either. I know you were assigned to work on that page, but to be honest I think you'd be better off trying to work on a less established article. Graham87 05:35, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Graham87, thanks for your help here, I've gone ahead and emailed the student about the importance of using reliable sources and not edit warring. Thanks, Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:38, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
