Speedy deletion nomination of Dayle's Algorithm
[edit]Hello DayleLucy101,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Dayle's Algorithm for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. ☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(talk) 01:08, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article, specifically Doctor Who (season 17), may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Werieth (talk) 14:50, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Jeh. I noticed that you made a change to an article, VHS, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please see the talk page for the article, TALK:VHS. The "Vertical Helical Scan" claim is discussed there (in one of the big yellow boxes at the top of the page). Yahoo Answers is in no way a reliable source to use on Wikipedia, and there are NO reliable sources for the "Vertical Helical Scan" claim. Jeh (talk) 16:39, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Old Sci-Fi Logo before name change.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Old Sci-Fi Logo before name change.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:56, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Hi. I have reverted your change as it flies in the face of established WP:CONSENSUS, as documented in the big banner at the top of the article talk page. If you want the article to include some mention of the "Vertical Helical Scan" name, I would strongly encourage you to, first, read the banner so as to gain an understanding of the current consensus, and why your source will not be regarded as sufficient. Then, if you still feel the article should mention "Vertical Helical Scan", please start a new section on that talk page and make your case there. i.e. we are at the "R" (revert) stage of WP:BRD; please begin the "D" (discussion) phase if you want to pursue this goal. Thanks! Jeh (talk) 22:28, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:American Beauty-American Psycho single cover.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Mossy Head, Florida. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Speedy deletion of "Dayle Lucy"
[edit]Dayle Lucy, a page you created, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular..
You are welcome to contribute content that complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.
Thank you. Eteethan(talk) 22:54, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Dayle Lucy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Eteethan(talk) 22:58, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Paxton High School with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Donner60 (talk) 22:59, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Last words Kevin Cosgrove.ogg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Last words Kevin Cosgrove.ogg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:18, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
