Welcome!

Hello David matthews, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 22:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to China. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. nat.utoronto 23:08, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the recent edit you made to Feminism has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. [edit]

I removed your additions to the lead paragraph. Personally, I agree with a lot of what you say, but you don't have any references for these views, and they are not exactly neutral. Feel free to let me know what you think.MAC475 (talk) 06:07, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canada

[edit]

While a discussion of racism in Canada is perfectly acceptable in the right place, the very intro of the Canada article is not the appropriate place for it. Feel free to start an article on Racism in Canada (an overdue article if ever there was one!) if you'd like, but the very head of an article is supposed to be a general overview of the most centrally important basic facts about the topic, and the issue of racism, as important as it is, is not material for a basic introduction to the topic of Canada. Your comment was POV and reverted as unconstructive. Please do not make such additions in the future.CSHunt68 (talk) 18:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see from your posting history that you have been mostly unconstructive in your edits. Cease and desist. This is your one warning.CSHunt68 (talk) 18:28, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Iron

[edit]

Hi, I just partially reverted a pair of changes that you made to Iron. You can see your changes here and my change here. I did this because, viewing the reference supplied, I found no evidence that, as the article read after your changes, "The smelting of iron in bloomeries probably began in India in the second millennium BC or the later part of the preceding one." While it does provide evidence that smelting in bloomeries in India began around then, the general context of the article is such that a reader would assume that iron smelting in bloomeries in general began in India at that time, a statement not justified by the reference.

If there's a problem with my analysis, or if I missed something in the reference provided, feel free to raise the topic; we can discuss the relative merits of various possible changes. Cheers, {{Nihiltres|talk|log}} 16:33, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Also do not violate WP:WEASEL. Dl2000 (talk) 02:37, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions, including your edits to Medha Patkar. However, please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not be libelous. Any controversial statements about a living person added to an article, or any other Wikipedia page, must include proper sources. Thank you. Abecedare (talk) 14:36, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Arundhati Roy. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. In particular, refrain from adding weaselish statements, hearsay, slander, rumor, gossip, and blogtalk to encyclopedic articles. Drmies (talk) 21:07, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to Quebec. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. freshacconci talktalk 21:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sathya Sai Baba, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gujarati. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Zubin Bharucha, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gujarati (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
