Ambiguous Link
[edit]Hi, the page Irish is a disambiguation page - as the word could mean the people, the language, the country and other things. It's generally better to use a link directly to the topic that you mean. So in the case of your edits to Ger O’Brien and Robbie Clarke (and probably others?) you could use [[Irish people|Irish]] or [[Ireland|Irish]]. Keep up the good work! Proposed deletion of Eoghan Carew
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Eoghan Carew, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Player fails WP:ATHLETE as he has never played in a fully-pro league.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. GiantSnowman 12:32, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

AfDs
[edit]AfD is not a vote-counting process - it's about weighing up the strength of the arguments and deciding which one is better. As it appears to be fairly clear that the Finnish league is not fully professional, those players all failed WP:ATHLETE. пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:17, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- The fact that the individual players might be professional is irrelavnt - this is why we do not have articles on players at professional clubs from the Football Conference, i.e. because the whole league is not professional (as required by WP:ATHLETE). пﮟოьεԻ 57 15:27, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Because it gave me hope that other admins put arguments based on policy and guidelines above those with no basis other than their own opnions or desire to annoy other editors. пﮟოьεԻ 57 17:56, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of David Scully (footballer)
[edit]The article David Scully (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Fails WP:NFOOTY as has not played senior international football nor played in a fully professional league. No indication that subject has garnered significant reliable coverage for any other achievements to satisfy GNG. Appearances in european competition was firstly in qualifying rounds not competition proper and secondly was in matches between two teams neither of whom play in a fully professional league.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. [edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
By rights I should block you outright for edit warring given that thre separate editors have told you to stop adding / removing content from WP:FPL, particularly given that there is an open thread on the talk page. However, given that you have no real warnings on your talk page at the moment and are actively involved in the discussion thread I won't. However, please take this as your only warning. WP:FPL is a list that governs a WP guideline. No changes should be made to it without proper consensus being achieved. If you make any further edits to the list without prior consensus indicating they are appropriate you will be blocked. If you disagree with other editors and feel the talk page discussion is not helpful, there are other option available. Fenix down (talk) 07:50, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
