Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk: U.S. National Video Game Team, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 18:25, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ANI Experiences survey

[edit]

Beginning on November 28, 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) will be conducting a survey to en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Thank you on behalf of the Support & Safety and Anti-Harassment Tools Teams, Patrick Earley (WMF) talk 21:12, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Capitol Hill Occupied Protest, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Above the Law. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Conflict of Interest Declaration

[edit]

An anonymous user insists that I know Mr. Patrick Scott Peterson personally. I wish to clear the air here once and for all.

I met him and spoke to him for about 5 minutes at a Donkey Kong tournament in the year 2012. He was thankful for the kickstarter funds and even offered to buy me a beer. I was in a hurry as I was there to photograph the event so I declined. After that I read some of his articles as I was a subscriber to several retro magazines that he wrote for.

I have not spoken to him since that time. I know of him from his many video game related articles. I am a member of Twin Galaxies, and he is a former referee who retired from that organization back in 2010 -- well before I ever knew who he was.

He is a public figure what writes for video game magazines, and also once achieved a killscreen on Donkey Kong -- a feat close to Billy Mitchell himself. But everyone in that gaming community knows that.

That is it. datagod (talk) 🍁 22:43, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
