Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Datacon, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! — Scientizzle 18:46, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dhriti Pati Sarkar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pure vanity piece. No reliable references to be found.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I wanted to explain that the "true references" you have provided at this article are not reliable as they are affiliated with the subject. If the article has never received significant news coverage, the article can't be accepted. To learn how to properly cite references, visit Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. Additionally, the article never indicates his importance, please add significant details about his career. I saw that you posted an AFD tag on the draft for this article, to match the one on the actual article. Unfortunately, this makes your userspace draft show up as an article for deletion - and one that points to the debate for the actual article. To avoid confusion, user pages go through a different process - not AFD. So I've removed the AFD tag and replaced it with a See Also link to the debate. Obviously, feel free to remove that if you like, but the only reason for the AFD tag that I could see would be the link to the debate, for simplicity - so I left that link.

Now, if you want the userspace draft deleted, no problem - just tag it with {{db-u1}} and an admin will delete it for you.

If there's anything I can help you with, please leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 20:29, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Datacon. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Dhriti Pati Sarkar".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dhriti Pati Sarkar}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 16:58, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
