Improve the JPEG compression for DatBot
Currently, when DatBot resizes a JPEG image, it applies rather aggressive compression which produces heavy artifacts (especially noticeable when red is involved — example: File:Dear Future Self (Hands Up).jpg). Could you please change DatBot so that it compresses images less? —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 00:24, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Pythoncoder: I'm not the greatest with image modification/compression. If you know a better way to do it than lanczos tell me and I'll see if I can change it. Dat GuyTalkContribs 08:56, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- (thanks for pinging) The resizing itself seems fine. Probably when you save the JPEG there's some option about how much you want to compress it. What's the bot programmed in if you don't mind me asking? (so I can check the documentation) —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 12:48, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- pythoncoder, You're in luck, it's python. https://github.com/DatGuy1/Bot-Tasks/tree/master/NonFreeImageResizer --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 15:10, 19 October 2019 (UTC) (talk page watcher)
