Why your article has not been accepted thus far
[edit]Please see the notability guidelines, particularly those for corporations and organizations. Basically, you need reliable secondary sources with no connection to the subject to demonstrate that the Luxury Rules is noteworthy. For example, a book or an article in a newspaper or magazine (not a press release) discussing something important the company has done, or discusses their practices (but not simply their business hours and such). This is needed because Wikipedia is not for promoting knowledge of organizations (i.e. advertising), but simply summarizing what existing sources already state. - P.S.: Facebook, twitter, and Linkdin are almost never regarded as acceptable references, and never for establishing notability. Notability is also not inherited, so unsourced connections to notable subjects does not make another subject notable (my brother, for example, has met quite a few musicians with articles, yet neither he nor I are deserving of articles). Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. My advice
[edit]My advice is first to find some really good reliable sources. Good reliable sources like The New York Times, Washington Post, Time Magazine etc. Also Google Books are generally considered as pretty good sources. Linked in, Twitter, Facebook are not considered reliable sources, as Ian told you above. After you find these reliable sources talk to me again. But please don't add any more data on my talk related to your proposed article. By now I know what the contents of your proposed article are. Good luck. DuPont Registry
[edit]Regarding DuPont Registry there are two possible options: Either this is a very famous registry and no one bothered to add any good sources yet, although they are expected to exist, or you just found an article which got lucky and survived. But not for long. Now it will be scrutinised and then deleted if no sources are found. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 17:01, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
As far as the sources you have on your user page, none looks like a reliable source to me. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 17:03, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Passing mentions do not establish notability - many of the sites you've added as references do not appear to be about Luxury Rules directly, but only cite it or mention it in passing, such as the Casanoble blog post.
- Self-published sources and user-generated sources (such as blogs and wikis) are not considered reliable sources - This would include the http://www.lussorian.com site.
- Directories do not establish notability, as it is their job to list everyone - This would include http://www.granpyme.com
Do more than just look for any mention of the words "Luxury Rules" on any page. We're not a random collection of barely sorted information, we're an encyclopedia. As Dr.K. and I have mentioned, you should really try newspapers, magazines, and books: not blogs.
As for DuPont Registry, the talk page for the article reveals that a past proposal for deletion found a number of sources. However, as noone has bothered to add the sources, I have tagged the article for deletion. There are a lot of articles on the site, and only so many editors to review them, so some poorly-made pages do fall through the cracks and survive longer than they should.
