DarkAudit, I'm going to try not get angry or take it personally that you nominated this article for deletion, but you'll have to forgive me - I'm pretty riled up about it. I think that putting the single-source tag on it would have been FAR more appropriate a move. This allows the article to stay, but indicates that more sources are needed. To simply delete the entire article makes no sense. I'm not sure how old you are, but if you were at any Pirates or Steelers games in the 1980s or 1990s, or any event held in downtown Pittsburgh at that time, you would have seen this woman - people remember her as a part of Pittsburgh history. - I tried to look up more sources on her from here, but all that came back were the Wikipedia article and the YouTube videos. That single source and the only local notability was what prompted me to but the article up for AfD. I've made my case for why I think it should go. It's up to the community to decide if the article meets the standards. Some have agreed with me, others haven't. If consensus moves towards keep, then it's kept. Just because it's in AfD doesn't mean the article's unsalvageable. I've been involved in more than one AfD discussion where the article evolved over the discussion period into something much different, to the point where the nomination was withdrawn. Well, you won. Congratulations. Clearly, being a journalist AND living in Pittsburgh for 30+ years still doesn't make me a good judge of notability. I hope you appreciate your victory. Since my work is no longer valued here, I see no reason to continue to make contributions. NickBurns (talk) 22:20, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's not my fault the article didn't meet the guidelines in WP:BIO. That's the standard people use around here. It's also not my fault that there wasn't much in the way of discussion in the AfD or much work on the article. My last comment sat there for days with no further response. AfD nomination of Staine
An editor has nominated Staine, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Staine (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
FICTWARN and non-television invocations
My understanding is that FICTWARN applies to all fictional characters, but you may wish to request clarification from the Arbitration Committee. --Eastmain (talk) 15:57, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
I reverted this article back to the version prior to my stub edit. I was not paying attention to the tags. My bad. Cheers GtstrickyTalk or C 21:22, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- That will give the other editor space to work while the admins sort out the rest. Thanks. DarkAudit (talk) 21:31, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
