6teen articles

[edit]

I'd figure we should discuss this here instead of within the edit summaries of the pages. Granted TELETOON spells the title with capitals, and I'm sure certain TV guides do as well (there are also those that spell it as 6teen), but as officially templated on the series (the opening credits, DVD covers, etc.), the title is spelt in lower case. The main 6teen article already has the fully capitalized "6TEEN" in its intro, and I don't see anything wrong with it being used to emphasize in the beginning, but outside of that, the other instances should follow what is set out in the series itself. --Benten 16:01, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Granted. But I've set it up so either way, the wiki link will still go to the same wiki article. Still I do not agree with the lowercase version. And by the way, as per Jen Masterson, the word "boobs" was actually used in the show, not "breasts".Darantz11 16:10, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You said: "also, as an encyclopedia article, quoting dialogue should be kept to WikiQuote (which is why slang shouldn't be used". So let's put it in a WikiQuote, then.Darantz11 16:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm aware that either spelling redirects to the main article, but in practice, the title should be written as the series presents it. Also, while the word "boobs" was used in the show itself, it doesn't necessarily mean that it should be duplicated in the article; slang is something to be avoided. Regarding WikiQuote, if you think that it's relevant, you could place the discussion surrounding Jen's flashing on 6teen's WikiQuote article (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/6teen) --Benten 16:18, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not, you'll all just laugh at me, me, who knows all about this Canadian show, up against Americans whose word goes. Besides, my Wikipedia account doesn't work at WikiQuotes... Anyway, I was also wondering, must 6TEEN be considered a Nickelodeon show since it is no longer on Nickelodeon due to low ratings? Darantz11 16:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not American; I'm Canadian. Anyways, regarding Nickelodeon, are you referring to the fact that the 6teen character articles are w/in the Nickelodeon Characters WikiProject? Because, articles can be under multiple WikiProjects. I assume the only reason that the articles are currently only a part of WikiProject Nickelodeon is because there aren't other specific WikiProjects that they could be categorized under. --Benten 16:27, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. And I apologize for being rough with you earlier. I sometimes worry about users here who rewrite articles for no other reason other than their own evil ends. Anyway, thanks for being there. Darantz11 16:31, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No harm done. --Benten 16:32, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just wondering: Is there any place on Wikipedia where they would be allowed or where exception(s) might be done for them? --Darantz11 22:14, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
