Renaming shields and flags of the Dominican Republic
[edit]I have seen that you are changing the names of shields and flags of provinces and municipalities of the Dominican Republic. It is interesting and important but I have to tell you that most of them, if not all, are fakes, they are not official; they were made by a guy who has an obsession with flags (and Miss Universe). It has been a problem for years. I tried to stop its works years ago but I got tired and I am not working in the Spanish Wikipedia anymore even if my language is Spanish and I am from the Dominican Republic. In some moments, he (or she, but a think that is a "he") creates new provinces in the country because he needs them so he can draw new flags; it is not a joke, is true. He is a person that lives at or near Orlando, Florida. I tell you this because I think that you should know. Anyhow, thanks for your work. Jmarcano (talk) 13:46, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Jmarcano: This is something you should report at Commons:Administrators' noticeboard. Commons administrators can deal with long-term problem users and their uploads, doing blocks and deletions as needed. Daphne Lantier 21:48, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
Declined speedy deletion nomination of Gardenscapes
[edit]Hello Daphne Lantier. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Gardenscapes as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because the article was about a mobile phone game, and A7 only applies to articles on real persons or groups, individual animals, organisations, web content and organised events. - @Adam9007: Oops, sorry about that Adam. I thought this was an online game. My mistake. Daphne Lantier 00:03, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
conflict of interest
[edit]Hi Daphne,
My name's Kyle and I'm attempting to put up a page for the nonprofit literary arts organization I direct. I noticed that you made the following comment:
The article states that the director is Kyle Schlesinger. This person also created Kyle Schlesinger earlier, using the account Kschlesinger, and worked on it with a third account, KyleSchlesinger. Daphne Lantier 23:42, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
And then all of the links to the authors that we've published disappeared. Can you explain? I'm really not sure what, if anything, I did wrong.
Thanks so much,
Kyle — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyle Schlesinger (talk • contribs) 00:04, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Kyle. I'm not very experienced around here, but the basic issue is Wikipedia conflict of interest policy. When an administrator or other more experienced editor at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard deals with my report, I'm sure they'll give you further direction or guidance. Petition
[edit]Hi Daphne Lantier, how are you? –sorry for my english, i'm not speaking english native–
First, I want to ask why so long blocking Commons? I have made arbitrary decisions, but it seems a long time. Well, in any case, my request would be if it is possible for me to be unblocked, or, dismiuir the time. I would appreciate.
Second, it is a question. this links are properly for usage in Commons? Thanks so much. I expect an answer soon. Danny toons 23:13 05 Jul 2017 (UTC)
- The block was your third block for uploading copyright violations. Each time the block gets longer. This is standard procedure. You've uploaded a lot of copyright violations, from 2011 up to June of this year. Your talk page is full of copyright violation tags. I put the block in place to protect Commons from further copyright violation uploads by you. You need to study c:COM:CB and c:COM:NETCOPYVIO before returning to editing Commons and uploading files. Once you feel you're ready, you can put up an unblock request at Commons by placing {{unblock|1=put reason here}} on your Commons talk page.
As for the files above, they look fine to me. Daphne Lantier 23:46, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
