How do you make those maps — Preceding unsigned comment added by Target0 (talk • contribs) 04:39, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
NLL map
The NLL has released the 2008 schedule, and Boston and Arizona will not be playing this season. Can you update the map to remove those cities? I'd do it myself, but I have no idea how. Thanks --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 01:42, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TorontoBlizzardLogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:TorontoBlizzardLogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:11, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Toronto Maple Leafs seasons
Your comment about the halves seems to be the opposite of what you edited to the page. There was no single season back in the 1910s, so you can't place the teams on some overall record. It was more like two separate seasons. The teams would play to win the first half, stop, then play to win the second half. Alaney2k (talk) 14:25, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- You are right, I did misunderstand. I looked at the history view and did not see what you showed me today. Sorry about that. I'll undo my change and make sure it looks ok. Alaney2k (talk) 16:05, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
NLL Map again
Hi again - now that the Chicago Shamrox are no more, can you remove them from the NLLteamlocations.png image? Thanks --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 01:06, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- I had already updated the map to remove the Shamrox when I saw this note. I updated (hopefully) cleaner then when I moved The Minnesota Swarm from east to west (which you later fixed). Thanks, and nice job on those Toronto Rock/Ontario Raiders seasons! -Mitico (talk) 13:33, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that you were the one who started this article a while back, and that you'd been a major contributor to it since. I just wanted to let you know that I've done some work on it over the last couple of days, along the lines of some of the featured lists such as the corresponding articles for the DBacks and the Phillies. Re:Template:NBA 2009–10 game log section
Thanks! I didn't know what the parameter was to make it show one of the months on each team's game log template without having to edit the main NBA Game Log Section template. When I edited the main game log template to show October on all of them, I realized it would do the same for not only the 2009-10 season templates, but the 2008-09 templates too, so I thought making a new template was the answer, so the 2008-09 templates would be left alone. But now that I know the easier way to fix it, I'll go clean up the mess I made. :D Tampabay721 (talk) 21:01, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
NLL game logs
Sure, feel free. The game number for the playoff games isn't really relevant, and I have no particular opinion on whether there's a space after the @ sign. There are a lot of pages to update (start from Category:National Lacrosse League team seasons), and I don't personally think these changes are important enough to be worth it, but if you do, go ahead! --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 00:17, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Request for image
Hey mate, do you remember this photo that you posted in a discussion some time last year? I was wondering if I might ask you to upload it (or better still, a cropped version showing just East Africa, with Somalia broken up) to commons? I'm interested in using it on the East Africa page, where a couple of editors previously objected to Somaliland being listed separately from Somalia. Their reasoning cited the fact that very few sources, when listing the constituents of eastern Africa, mention Somaliland separately from Somalia. I'm not sure if you remember the mediation case...? Anyway, a photo of a published map would be invaluable.
Is this possible? Thank you, and best regards, Nightw 03:00, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
- Fantastic! The rationale looks convincing to me. I'll add them to the article promtly. Thank you so much for doing that, this will be a big help! Nightw 04:28, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:East Africa.png
Thanks for uploading File:East Africa.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Reviewer permission
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 05:57, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Djibouti and Kosovo
Cheers for reverting the IP's edit, I was just informing the reader where the reports had come from. It wasn't a biased edit, it was not in violation of WP:NPOV. Anyway thanks for your support. Also if you search on google news, that is the only article reporting that Djibouti is planning on withdrawing recognition. Lets just keep an eye out encase the IP decides to revert again, if it does continue I may request that the article is semi-protected so that IPs and new accounts can't edit the article. Regards IJA (talk) 11:01, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- It is possible, for example Iran de-recognised Israel. However once you've recognised it is a lot harder to de-recognise, especially if you've established diplomatic relations. Also with the ICJ saying Kosovo's independence wasn't illegal, there isn't much ground on to de-recognise. It'd be really hard to justify. I also think it is important to point out who has stated it therefore the reader can make up his/ her own mind as to why the Serbian Ambassador to Ethiopia has said this about Djibouti. - Also, why does your signature link to another user's talk page? Otherwise someone might accuse you of sock puppetry. See WP:SOCK#NOTIFY. TDL (talk) 20:30, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
It's not. I edited my signature to get the shadow effect. I must've muffed the link. I'll fix it.
Thanks for the heads up, though. -LlywelynII 21:00, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
I know you're probably sick to death of the subject after the other pages, but on my namespace or at the mediation page, please keep providing feedback to my and other people's proposals so we can work towards something you and Alinor can live with and that meets all the requisite guidelines without turning the page into something like its current morass.
Also: again, kudos on the level-headed civility. I know that brings to mind something like Chris Rock: [Guys] always want some credit for some [stuff] they're supposed to do... A [guy]'ll say something like "I take care of my kids. You're supposed to, ya dumb #%*$@%@!! But it's pretty damned rare on the internets, and it's appreciated. -LlywelynII 21:00, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Revision to inaccurate info
With regard to the Laure Kightlinger bio, you intentionally reverted an accurate edit, linked to a verifiable source link, to knowing false info. There is no COI violation in providing accurate first-hand knowledge based on verified facts. The prior person who made the edits did so without any source reference and based on false information. All we want is an accurate bio. Kightlinger was born in 1969, as listed in her verified IMDB profile. She graduated high school in 1986 - the inaccurate listed info is not sourced, but you reverted to the false information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by L&S-ESQS (talk • contribs) 23:32, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Note, I reverted you edits because you changed her year of graduation from Emerson College from 1986 to 1989 and from highschool to 1986 without any sources to back up these claims. Emerson College itself claims that she graduated in 1986, as seen in the sources linked in the article: [1] [2]. If she graduated from college in 1986 how could she also have graduated from highschool in the same year? As for her date of birth, I agree that the 1964/65 claim had no sources to back it up. However, IMDB isn't a WP:RS so we can't use that either. I removed all the speculation about her date of birth from the article until such time as someone finds a RS to confirm it. If you find one, then please post it on the article's talk page for discussion. TDL (talk) 21:14, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Please don't
I'm going to need you to stop "fixing" that CCI. Your interpretation of the relevant policies appear to be different than that of most, but that's not the real problem is it? You have a conflict of interest with this. Please don't interfere. Nightw 03:51, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- And I'm going to need you to stop "fixing" articles by reinserting plagiarized content. You still don't seem to have a grasp of the relevant policies. I suggest reading Wikipedia:Public domain. Even if the source was in the public domain, that doesn't mean you can plagiarize the content. TDL (talk) 04:38, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Revert on List of states with limited recognition
Hello,
On List_of_states_with_limited_recognition you undid my revision with the comment "talk pages are a RS". What do you mean by that? All I can find is they would be RuneScape, which makes no sense at all. The link to the talk page was added because I realise it's a possibly dubious subject, so any editor will think about it. Pirodam (talk) 10:55, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have been more clear with my comment. I actually mistyped. What I ment to say was that "talk pages are not a RS". By RS I mean a WP:Reliable Source. We can't cite a discussion on the talk page as justification for including the entry in the article because these discussions are not reliable.
- If you think that something in the article is dubious, you could add the template "{{dubious}}" next to the statement. This will generate a link to the talk page and appear as [dubious – discuss]. (Just copy and paste everything between the quotation marks, including the curly brackets {{}}).
- If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! TDL (talk) 12:10, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks ;D Pirodam (talk) 13:18, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for agreeing with me on my point, however it should be noted that the 2 people who disagree with me (despite the fact that it is certainly a possible consequence and frankly they should be banned for edit warring anyway) are both supporters of Scottish Independence hmmm.... so much for WP:PROMOTION — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.52.120.149 (talk) 11:36, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Kosovo recognition
I don't see something that should be discussed. All the publication in the article have they reference. For example FM of Kazakhstan said that "...." is a fact. We can't change the context of discussion. What is the problem here? I'm open to discuss. (In the sub article about Greek opinion is mentioned the fact that Athens support Kosovo Eu integration, and Kosovo membership to IBRD; See Greece's reaction to the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence) Irvi Hyka (talk) 00:23, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- But the quote you are including doesn't say that Kazakhstan supported Kosovo's membership in the IBRD. It says that they will think about it. That's not notable. I'm happy to discuss this on the talk page (there's already a discussion started there) but you need to self-revert as per WP:BRD. Edit warring in your desired changes is not the appropriate way to handle the situation. TDL (talk) 22:27, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
What is the difference between "completely ratified" and "deposited"?
I am not an expert in this field, and also think other editors wonder about it. So I posted the question at the talkpage of the "Fiscal Compact". I hope you can help me out, and post a good reply at talkpage. Best regards, Danish Expert (talk) 21:38, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
I think you may have made a mistake removing my edit on the EU, my edit was not personal opinion but fact, I do however acknowledge that I may not of referenced these facts, something which I will do now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.161.217.47 (talk) 08:23, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- No it wasn't a mistake, your edit was soapboxing. One of the five pillars of wikipedia is that content must adhere to a neutral point of view. Your edit was written as an attack on the EU, not a neutral description. I strongly suggest that you do not re-add this content to the article and instead start a discussion on the article's discussion page. Here you can propose changes and other editors will weight in and help you formulate your edit in a neutral manner. TDL (talk) 08:52, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
Former countries
Could you apply the changes you made to the country infobox somehow to Template:Infobox former country? It's even more desirable there, as it's not a snapshot of the present. Cheers, CMD (talk) 13:20, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, can do. Unfortunately both templates are fully protected so I can't make the changes myself. But I've made an edit request here so it should be dealt with shortly. TDL (talk) 22:03, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Done - Both templates should be working now. TDL (talk) 03:58, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Appears they are. Republic of China (1912–1949) is a working example, if you're interested. Thanks, maybe one day I'll learn the code. CMD (talk) 19:06, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
