Speedy deletion nomination of User:Danieljamarino/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Danieljamarino/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Qcne (talk) 18:57, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

- Hi Pichpich, please help me to have my article published. It's not a promotion and there's mentions on other pages in Wikipedia about her. There anything I can improve to make this possible? Danieljamarino (talk) 18:47, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi, I am trying to create my first article and I believe my text came across as self-promotional. I will revise my article and reread the tips for creating an article here. I promise not to make the same mistake. I would like to have my account unlocked. Thank you. Danieljamarino (talk) 20:18, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Duplicate request. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- You enclosed your unblock request in "nowiki" tags, so no one would have ever seen it. I have fixed it so that it would show up in the queue. That said, you wrote a promotional draft in your sandbox, that draft was declined and deleted, and then you thought the appropriate next step was to do the same thing directly in mainspace? What on Earth would have led you to that conclusion? Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:20, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I'm still learning. Thanks for fixing my mistake. I'll be more careful. Danieljamarino (talk) 20:26, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate that, but that wasn't an answer to the question. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:29, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- It was not my intention to publish on mainspace. I was not paying attention. I am trying to create an article about my friend who is an actress, since other friends of ours have similar articles approved on Wikipedia. Danieljamarino (talk) 20:35, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- You shouldn't have multiple unblock requests open at a time; one suffices to put it into the queue. That aside, I'd be willing to discuss an unblock with you. If that's your friend, that's rather a conflict of interest. A COI doesn't forbid you from writing about a subject, but since it makes it so difficult to maintain neutrality, it does mean that you should have your proposed edits or article creations reviewed by editors who do not have a COI. In the case of a proposed new article, that would mean doing as you did before, creating a draft and requesting review via articles for creation rather than direct creation in mainspace. But in any case, you would need to very carefully review the policies and guidelines on neutral writing and puffery. Material like
Cássia Raquel is a name that consistently stands out
,Her captivating voice and stage presence
(both examples of puffery),Her musical journey began
(it is a career, not a "journey", we use very literal language),critically acclaimed musical
(leave out "critically acclaimed" type puffery),marking a pivotal moment in her career
(what reliable and independent source confirms that it was "pivotal"?), and the rest of the article goes on and on like that, talking up the subject. Articles must stick strictly to summarizing facts from reliable and independent sources in a neutral tone. If you know the individual, you would have to make sure you strictly stay away from using any personal knowledge, and only put in the article what sources actually confirm. If you'd be willing to agree to in the future creating any articles about this individual or subjects related to them as a draft and requesting AFC review, I would be willing to unblock you with that condition. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:50, 1 September 2024 (UTC)- Also note that just because an article exists does not mean that it was "approved" by anyone(just as you attempted to create an article without approval), nor that it is an acceptable article. See other stuff exists. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with you 100% and I am willing to do it the right way. I really made a mistake, it was not my intention to try to publish the article without first going through a review. That is why I did not understand why I was blocked, not just my article. Your answer was very clear and you are absolutely right. I will work on the article, along with some friends and I will publish it through my sandbox for review. I am learning and I want to do everything correctly. Thank you for the guidance. I hope to be unblocked so I can start from scratch. I have had this account for over 10 years. Thank you. :) @dan_iamarino Danieljamarino (talk) 17:53, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
