Hey! This is Zac. Your section is looking great so far. I had just a few minor questions/edit ideas--nothing major, really. I understand that as this is still in draft form, so you’ll probably have anticipated my suggestions. Sorry in advance for that.
Without further delay, I would expand your opening paragraph longer. I also wondered if dream sequences could really be considered as broad as, “flashback, a flash-forward, a fantasy, a vision, a dream.” I’m sure you’re correct; I’d just like to see the breadth of the term addressed.
I really liked the purpose of dream sequence section, particularly using Pee-wee and Gondry as examples and the highlighting of the (fallacious) objective way in which most are displayed. I do wonder if perhaps the sequences reflecting the directors is relevant. It’s interesting but I would consider cutting it or tying it in more.
Your techniques of dream sequences was fascinating. I would probably use the term “golden age” Hollywood as opposed to classic. I’m also unsure about the use of “we” for a wikipedia article. It may be just fine. I don’t know, but I would check for sure. Also, bringing up the criticism of dreams as covers or signs of weak storytelling, does not seem especially necessary.--unless you started a new section about reaction to dream sequences.
I really liked the history section! No improvements really needed!
I hope this helps!
