Invitation to the WikiProject of Weather
[edit]Hello Daniel boxs! I saw on the 2021 Pacific typhoon season talk page that you have an interest in tropical cyclones. So, I wanted to invite you to Wikipedia’s WikiProject of Weather. The WikiProjects goal is to improve all weather articles on Wikipedia. Weather articles can range from seasonal list and informational articles like the 2021–22 European windstorm season or the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season to direct articles like the 2011 Joplin tornado to even large timeline lists like Weather of 2021. The WikiProject is basically a way for weather loving Wikipedians to communicate between each other and set up some standard for weather Wikipedia articles. As you are a new editor, participating with the WikiProject would also give you a chance to learn how Wikipedia writes and works on Weather articles. I hope you consider joining and last but not least, welcome to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I will do my best to answer them! Talk page guidelines
[edit]Hello Daniel boxs. Recently, you posted a copy/paste style message to multiple articles about Typhoon Goni being the strongest now in 2020 and I want to talk to you about them.
- To start off with, when you have a statement like that, it is wise to provide a Reliable source to back up the statement. Without a reliable source, Wikipedia will not accept information like that.
- Secondly, I recommend reading Wikipedia's talk page guidelines. Article talk pages, like Talk:Cyclone Harold, are only supposed to be used to discuss topics related to Cyclone Harold. I think it goes without saying that Typhoon Goni is not Cyclone Harold, so the message you posted there about "Goni becoming the strongest in 2020" should not have been posted there.
- Lastly, I wanted to mention the WikiProject of Weather, which is a group of Wikipedia editors who focus on improving weather articles on Wikipedia. From all your contributions, it is clear you have an interest in the weather, and joining the WikiProject would allow you to learn Wikipedia's policies and guidelines as well as let you learn how Wikipedia created and improve weather articles. Elijahandskip (talk) 00:08, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
Hope all of this helps. Elijahandskip (talk) 00:08, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Chicdat. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Typhoon Goni have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 10:58, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

Welcome to WikiProject Tropical cyclones, Daniel boxs!
[edit]Hi, and welcome to the Tropical cyclone WikiProject! We are a group of Wikipedia editors who help to improve articles related to tropical cyclones on Wikipedia.
Looking for somewhere to start? Here are a few suggestions.

- See the to do list for the WikiProject, and opt to try and complete some of those tasks.
- Check out the guidelines to get an idea of the project's standards.
- If you want to work on an article, Category:Stub-Class Tropical cyclone articles is a great place to start.
- You can also check out the newsletter.
- For further information, you could join the WikiProject Tropical cyclones IRC channel or Discord server.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or would like to talk about the project in general, feel free to leave a message on the talk page.

WikiProject Weather 2022 C/B Class Drive
[edit]Hello Daniel boxs! WikiProject Weather is doing a drive during 2022 to get all new 2022 weather articles to at least C class, with the hope of B Class. I thought you might be interested in the WP Weather drive, so I wanted to drop a message about it. Elijahandskip (talk) 16:37, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
Let me think first because sometimes I make a mistake with Edit and I'm just a beginner. Daniel boxs (talk) 16:40, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]They do not improve anything. The year in season effects sections should only be provided in storms that cross years. 🐔dat (talk) 11:27, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
I saw the Season effects of the 2020 Pacific typhoon season that is May 8 - December 29, 2020 and also the Season effects of the 2021 Pacific typhoon season so I just edited it every year just in case. Daniel boxs (talk) 11:31, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Ok, I see. Just, before making big edits like that, try to discuss the changes. You might find that there's a reason why some season articles don't have years. 🐔dat (talk) 11:40, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Edits reverted
[edit]Your recent edits to Pacific typhoon season articles have been reverted. There is no indication of consensus for the information you've added, which is trivia and original research at best. Do not make mass edits to existing articles, particularly ones including problematic content, without consensus. Chlod (say hi!) 15:04, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
March 2022
[edit]Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Tropical Storm Conson (2021). This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. "Conson" was not retired by the Typhoon Committee. Typhoon Conson (2010) is also a more suitable candidate for the primary topic. Chlod (say hi!) 21:13, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
List of retired Philippine typhoon names
[edit]Hi, I am trying to ensure that all of the data on the List of retired Philippine typhoon names is correct and coming from PAGASA/NDRMMC rather than the JTWC, JMA, KMA, CMA etc. As a result, I have had to revert your edit here as you did not specify where you got your data from.Jason Rees (talk) 09:32, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm HurricaneEdgar. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. if the JMA say MAX WINDS 30 KNOTS. WARNING. in the weather they will add it for example TD 08W HurricaneEdgar 09:12, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
Add your WikiProjects??
[edit]I have only one question to you, Daniel boxs, I'm asking to permission to add your template because you are the member of WP:WPW and WP:WPTC? If you want to talk me, feel free to your mentioned, thank you. HurricaneErl 2022 (talk) 07:23, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
JTWC
[edit]Pls refer to NHC not JTWC because JTWC is not official for eastern central alantic also they not area of responsibility. HurricaneEdgar 15:28, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Why are you removing the current storm infobox while the storm is still active? You can just update it yourself instead of removing the whole thing! And I was just about to update it when I noticed that you removed it. Removing article content without providing a valid reason is considered disruptive, so please DO NOT do this again! Thanks. CycloneYoris talk! 01:09, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Average storms YTD
[edit]Hi! Just to note for this very late edit of yours that these numbers are only recorded until 2021, as obviously, we are still ongoing for 2022. Thanks. Typhoon2013 (talk) 07:43, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
2022 weather events
[edit]Just curious, why do you keep removing changes made to the 2022 weather events page with no explanation? These are notable events that occurred with similar events being listed. The page also desperately needs updating. Jamisonsupame (talk) 16:49, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
Read before reverting
[edit]Please read advisories before reverting what you thought is wrong. You were actually providing false information about the 16th tropical depression reported by the Japan Meteorological Agency. 🐱💬 14:50, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Adding citations for fatalities
[edit]Hey. I wanted to do a reminder that you should add references to Tropical cyclones in 2022, especially when fatalities are involved. For Deep Depression BOB 07, you added 16 fatalities, with no references and the seasonal section for the Deep Depression does not have any information about fatalities. Can you please add a source for them? Elijahandskip (talk) 22:05, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

September 2022
[edit]Hello, I'm Chlod. I noticed that you recently removed content from 2022 Pacific typhoon season without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. If you have an issue with the content, edit the content; do not remove it completely. You are disallowed from editing a page to retain a specific version that you prefer. Chlod (say hi!) 01:21, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Do not revert edits so that your edit will not conflict with the current version. Start a fresh edit by discarding your changes. What you are doing is highly disruptive to the page. You have made three consecutive reverts on the page, reverting further may have your editing privileges removed. Chlod (say hi!) 01:30, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Please provide a reliable source before you make a claim. You can also use the JMA estimate (RSMC on the basin), but you must wait until the JMA releases the best track data. HurricaneEdgar 04:55, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
ITN recognition for Hurricane Fiona
[edit]On 30 September 2022, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Hurricane Fiona, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 00:15, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Chlod (say hi!) 15:14, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Hey man im josh (talk) 15:19, 27 October 2022 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 29
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tropical Storm Nalgae (2022), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Araceli and Kalinga. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors
[edit]Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.
We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 03:59, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
