- Wow, it's barnstar day today :D - no problems with helping you out. That reminds me, I better add a welcome message to your talk page *runs off and adds one*. Remember, any questions you have, just ask me here or over MSN, and I'll be happy to help you. Killfest2—Daniel.Bryant 07:56, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All sorted (I did it last night, but forgot to reply back to you!) I have swapped them around so that the group A team is first in each pair. I also found that 3rd and 4th in group B were separated by number of red cards allocated, and have updated the table with those details. -- Chuq 22:39, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, thanks for that - I was wondering how they were going to split the NZK and the QR - great work! Killfest2—Daniel.Bryant 23:47, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel, I felt I ought to explain my recent GA delistings of articles you promoted. I have some concerns about the GA process in general which I outlined on the GAC talk page. In order to test those concerns, I decided to start reviewing recently promoted GAs to see if I agreed with the promotion; unfortunately, the two most recent GAs happened to both be yours and I did disagree with both promotions (for reasons explained on the relevant talk pages). I wanted to leave this note to assure you that these delistings were nothing personal against you, and merely an unfortunate coincidence. --jwandersTalk 08:14, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is references-small? —ptk✰fgs 23:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- References small is an alternate type of references. It is widely accepted in the Wikipedia community as looking more professional and readable.
- To use it, instead of simply writing <references/> in the references section, write <div class="references-small"><references/></div>. Hope that helped! Killfest2—Daniel.Bryant 23:14, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Okay, but what does it do? I don't see any difference... —ptk✰fgs 05:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- It should make the text in the "References" smaller and therefore easier to read. Otherwise, there is no real difference. Killfest2—Daniel.Bryant 05:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Here's a screenshot of what the difference is: Screenshot. Killfest2—Daniel.Bryant 06:05, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh, okay. It must have run up against my minimum font size. —ptk✰fgs 06:07, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel, thanks for offering to redesign my userpage. I'd love to have you help redesign it, and what you have so far is brilliant. See if you can bring the colour scheme in line with, say, Template:Happy Adminship 5, a template I created not so long ago, as I like the deep blue style. I'd be happy to find another userbox to fill the gap. I'm not sure if it would make the page too big, but for simplicity can all the content be on one page instead of including /Contributions, /Awards etc.? Thanks, Draicone (talk) 07:22, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Sure. So you want the mauve/purple look? And you want them all under one section? Daniel.Bryant 07:23, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- The mauve/purple look would be good. I don't want them all under one section, I just want all the content on the same page - sorry if I wasn't clear enough - i.e. no {{User:Draicone/Contributions}}, but the content of this hypothetical User:Draicone/Contributions to be as if it was substed onto my user page, so that I can edit it all easily. I'll never have too much content on the userpage, so it shouldn't break the 32kb warning mark. --Draicone (talk) 07:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, just proposing a idea about the 2005-06 page with the stats. For stats like biggest win, yellow cards, assists etc would it be better to put them in a seprate page called a-league 2005-06 stats (we should still leave awards and goalscorers on origiinal page though). You can plce it up for discussion if you want (i just asked you because i didn't know what page would be best) cheers --Boltonfan22 08:31, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Boltonfan22[reply]
- In my honest opinion (which is more-often-than-not wrong), I think they should stay on the main page. The last thing we need is more pages linked off the A-League one, and it adds quality content to an otherwise-shortish page. I'll propose a change on the discussion page for the 2005-06 A-League season, however I must inform you that I will be voting oppose. Still, it will be interesting to see what happens. Daniel.Bryant 08:37, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- My idea has been raised and well it wasn't the best idea now i think about it 2 days later (i'm now thinking of putting oppose on my own idea). Let it run until the 12th but if we get 6 opposes i'd like to save some dignity on wikipedia it may be a good idea to pull it a little early if that is possible. Thanks for your help in getting it put up for discussion keep up the good work. Boltonfan22

We are currently discussing how to redesign the sidebar which is displayed on every page of Wikipedia. We need the input of programmers every step of the way to figure out how to implement the design specifications being discussed. There has been disagreement over what is and is not possible, so we need you to help expand the realm of the possible. I see you are a Wikipedia fanatic. We could sure use your energy and enthusiasm on this project. Please join us at Wikipedia talk:Village pump (proposals)/Sidebar redesign. --Nexus Seven 11:00, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After all my comments previously, your continued good editing and contributions to the project I would like to Nominate you for adminship. Now that the Graal issue really is gone for good I hope it won't blow up too much. In truth I have no idea if you will pass RFA but if your up for it then I will nominate you... --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 13:48, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hope you don't mind but I went ahead and did the nomination anyway whilst I have the time (busy weekend). Let me know if you accept - I really hope you do. --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 20:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, but I can't accept. By the looks of things, everyone is going to oppose me on something they don't exactly understand (the GraalOnline incident). If that is going to be the case, I am withdrawing. If you really want to understand what went on, and what the hell went on with the below diffs, I ask that you ring up Danny at WMF head office and find out. I really can't believe that people "assume" what happened there, but I accept your decision. The sandbox (dff 2) was a legitmate action, which was going to be used to improve an article. Diff 1 was a protest to how I was being used as a scapegoat by certain members of the WMF to keep certain issues under control, of which I took offense to. Just imagine you currently have defamation, not based in fact, posted on a talk page, and cannot remove it because someone used their WMF powers (WP:OFFICE) to block the removal purely because "the situation is sensitive with these people" and "WMF has enough trouble with Graal (without removing the defamation)" and comments like "graal is making a huge mess, brad (Patrick) is trying to make it go away, but anything that will piss them off will make this blow up again" (All from IRC with Danny). I hope you understand that it was not my intention to vandalise, and have never vandalised, in my career on Wikipedia. Sometimes, you have to fight dirty against people who fight dirtily against you.
Hi, someone 'helpfully' listed this before you'd answered the questions. I've delisted it, so you or the nominator can do it when you are ready. However, in view of the negative reaction to the diffs supplied, you might like to consider whether you wish to proceed at this time. If you do, I'd give an explanation for them. --Doc 01:35, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I believe that this has been dealt with accordingly on your talk page. Daniel.Bryant 04:21, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi, regarding the closure of your RfA. If you wish to continue the debate over the matters raised in the RfA discussion you should do so on the RfA's talk page not the RfA itself. If your comments are allowed to stand after closure we would have to allow rebuttal comments from the RfA voters, then your rebuttal, etc. It would become very difficult to see what the historical record of the RfA at the time it closed was. Thanks for understanding, Gwernol 04:36, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- It will be difficult to address each comment individually. Surely my comments can be reinstated, as it was not my intention for the RfA to be closed immediately. Daniel.Bryant 04:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- If you make comments addressed to individual editors, then we have to let them respond if they choose to. This becomes an indefinite process. This is why RfAs are locked from editing once they are closed. We can't make an exception because the user moved to close more quickly than you expected, especially as you requested the close. It shouldn't be that hard to do this on the talk page. Gwernol 04:45, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the Football barnstar - my first one! :) -- Chuq 05:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- No problems - make sure you check out the new A-League portal! Daniel.Bryant 07:51, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I just wanted to make sure it was clear who I was replying to. By the way, if that "incident" hadn't been so recent, I would have supported you. Let me know next time (not if) you decide to RfA because I don't always keep an eye on the lists. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 09:08, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I will be declining any nominations before December 25, 2006 so it will have to be after that. But thanks for the moral support. Daniel.Bryant 09:09, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your userpage, User:Daniel.Bryant, contains copyrighted lyrics which are in violation of our Copyright Policy. The revisions in question will be deleted. Thanks, [ælfəks] 14:18, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I have since removed 80% of the lyrics. I'm allowed to quote up to 25%, and that's what I've done. Thanks for the message though. Daniel.Bryant 23:29, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I misread the 25% rule - it is for audio. I can't remember where I read it, but it was a policy or guideline on Wikipedia. Anyways, what I have quoted is less than 10%, counting words. I placed an abbreviated version on my page (which excludes the chorus). With the chorus in, it is approximately 330 words (depending on whether you shorten "We will" to "We'll"), and I use 31 words. 31/330 = 9.3% Daniel.Bryant 02:15, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It was brought to my attention that the article http://is.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tycho_Brahe needs fleshing out. Could you perhaps do that? He did have a golden nose, but there is so much more that can be said.Lkinkade 14:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar | ||
I saw the great work you did in getting the GraalOnline advertisment removed from Wikipedia. Although I didn't add my thoughts under this username, but instead as an IP (I only created it a minute ago because I don't think Wikipedia allows barnstars to be handed out by IPs), I saw all the effort you put in to doing what was right. Graalplayer23 04:43, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply] |
- Thanks very much. By the way, I understand the fact that you'd rather edit/view Wikipedia as an IP, but editing with a username is very beneficial. However, each to their own, and thanks for the barnstar! Daniel.Bryant 04:45, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Daniel.Bryant! You've signed up to be a judge for the Esperanza User Page Award! You'll have three user pages to examine. The user pages you get coincide with your signup number. So if you signed up to be a judge in spot 1 than you will get nominations 1-3. Pick your favorite one, and list it in the finalist section. After all 5 judges have chosen a finalist it's time to award them 1-10 points in the four categories:
- Attractiveness: general layout, considering colour scheme and/or use of tables if applicable
- Usefulness: links to subpages or editing aids, helpful information
- Interesting-ness: quirky, unique, captivating, or funny content
- General niceness: at the judges' discretion
Please see the Scores section on this page for additional information on your job as a judge.
Keep in mind that your scores are confidential! Email Shreshth91 with your scores and final picks. As soon as all the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced! Thanks.
- Thanks for being so prompt, and DAMN YOU TO HELL for not selecting me :) :( --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 08:22, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
