Hello Danamania, welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed nobody had said hi yet... Hi!

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, --Alf melmac 11:41, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Dana...

It's Wackymacs from the 68K MLA! Good to see you on Wikipedia. Please consider joining the Mac WikiProject I founded here at WP:MAC. See you around... — Wackymacs 18:11, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just cleaned up your Quadra 605 article a bit, take a look - we can collaborate on making it even better. — Wackymacs 19:27, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome - that looks far more a wikipedia-style page. Just spotted a couple of typos & outright errors I'd let slip in too, I'll fix those. danamania 19:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, some references would be good (this is an encyclopedia after all :P) - Just add <ref> </ref> around a link wherever you want the footnote to be in the article and it will automatically be added to the 'Footnotes' section. Take at look at the syntax for the text about RAM and you'll see how I put some information into a footnote using <ref> </ref> — Wackymacs 19:44, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done one, for the ADB power. Is that how it should be linked? The lowendmac ref regarding memory may need to be rewritten, it's not a direct quote from them but a paraphrasing to clear up their wording when it was originally on my site. That'll have to be for another day, it's seriously late (of the 7am kind) danamania 20:16, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, that's good! I just had a thought...would it be possible to add a History section to the article? There must be some info about the Quadra 650's development that we can scrape up from somewhere. Yep, I'm going to bed soon as well...— Wackymacs 20:47, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It would, if I had any history to put in. About all I know is a few vague comparisons in Apple documentation about 650/610/800s being rough predecessors (electrically) to the 605. There's more info gathering about the three PPC upgrades to do tonight, and what can go in the PDS slot. They may be eventually better off in their own article given they're shared among so many other models, but we'll see.

Hello.

It seems we keep running into each other. Welcome to Wikipedia. :)--chris.lawson 21:16, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for joining! The current Macintosh collaboration is Steve Jobs. It seems you already have both templates added—good! (see Wikipedia:Babel and Wikipedia:Userboxes for more info on the smaller one.) If you're going to be photographing stuff, you should read Wikipedia:Images and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Unless you have any reason to not license your material under the freest license possible, you'll want to use Template:GFDL-self on your images (select "GFDL (self made) from the drop down menu on the upload file screen, available in the toolbox on the left side of your screen). If you are going to release them under such a license, it would be best if you uploaded them to the Wikimedia Commons, but that's another can of worms. Try to get a good background, white or a solid color (which I can photoshop to be white if you cannot) is preferred. However, if it shows the item in context, even better. If all of this makes you feel uneasy (or I misinterpreted your userpage), you of course do not have to upload files. With or without them, we’re all honored that you want to join our WikiProject and Wikipedia as a whole. --HereToHelp (talkcontribs) 23:35, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since your account's too old for the Exceptional Newcomer Award... ;)

The Apple With A Bite Taken Out Of It
I, grm_wnr, hereby award this Apple With A Bite Taken Out Of It to Danamania for their great photographs of Apple hardware.

In other news, since I like your shots so much, I nominated Image:Macintosh_G3_DT.jpg for featured picture status. I don't know if it stands much of a chance, but I think the subject can hardly be done better... -- grm_wnr Esc 20:42, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update before you eagerly rush over there and check out the featured picture discussion: It looks like it's failing based on subject (i.e., a computer case looks boring), which I hadn't expected, because I'm not a FPC regular and probably spoiled from featured articles, where judgdgement on the content isn't done. However, it is notable that the notoriously critical FPC crowd found nothing wrong with the images in the technical disciplines so far, so I guess that means that what you have achieved is close to perfection ;) -- grm_wnr Esc 23:40, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's ok - I rushed over there and saw it on the nominations page, and that's a buzz - thanks for the nomination! I find myself probably over-obsessed with the old macs, so it's no drama to find out more people aren't so impressed by what is, after all, just a 'beige box'... even if it is a very nice beige box :). danamania 03:08, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
