Re: Starsiege:Tribes Article, Tribes101.com External Link
[edit]You are link spamming as per WP:LINKSPAM:
“ | Adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam. Although the specific links may be allowed under some circumstances, repeatedly adding links will in most cases result in all of them being removed." | ” |
It is an inappropriate external link since it is to a fan-based/personal site as per WP:VG/EL:
“ | Inappropriate external links - These links should be avoided in video game articles, though if determined by consensus to be valuable, they may be included
|
” |
and WP:LINKSTOAVOID:
“ | 11. Links to blogs and personal web pages, except those written by a recognized authority (this exception is meant to be very limited; as a minimum standard, recognized authorities always meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for biographies). | ” |

You can submit the link to its Open Directory Project entry at http://www.dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Shooter/T/Tribes_Games/Starsiege_-_Tribes, which is already linked to in the "External links" section of the Starsiege: Tribes article. --Silver Edge (talk) 03:04, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
You haven't been blocked nor "banned". Read the {{uw-spam3}} message again, specifically: "If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia." I removed what you called "essential information" as it was inappropriate game guide content as per WP:GAMETRIVIA and WP:GAMEGUIDE. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a game guide. Sources do not have to be websites, they can be any reliable published source, such as magazines. You can use {{cite book}} to cite the manual as a source, see WP:Citing sources. --Silver Edge (talk) 18:48, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Starsiege: Tribes. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. --Silver Edge (talk) 20:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
