Welcome
[edit]Hello, Dabigailortega and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.
Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! SPF121188 (talk this way) (my edits) 14:59, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

About "LGBT cinema in Latin America/edit"
[edit]Hi Dabigailortega,
It looks like you have tried to edit LGBT cinema in Latin America but created a separate article instead. You may want to move this into your userspace, as it will probably be speedily deleted pretty soon.
And for those watching, of *course* I've read The House of the Spirits.

Hello, Dabigailortega
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username EchidnaLives, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, LGBT cinema in Latin America/edit, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|EchidnaLives}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

[edit]Please do not write unrelated essays in article space, and please do not break reference sections/duplicate sections with the wrong headings and add your own appendices. If it's a school essay, the only person who should read is your teacher. If you are a professional academic and this is your field of research, there are guides to help you learn how to edit Wikipedia properly rather than just insert your thoughts.
In addition, if you know of sources relating to analysis of Allende's literature, it belongs at the articles for the literature, not at an overview of Latin American cinema, something to which it barely relates and thus an article where it certainly should not have its own subsection (not that, indeed, any individual work besides perhaps the truly seminal should at an overview).
