Architectural theory
[edit]I stumbled across this [1] and thought you might find it useful for your theory article as a good reference. (sounds like a good read too)--Mcginnly | Natter 00:31, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to read that, but am not reading much these days that isn't on the computer. I've bought a few books recently but have barely opened them. I've skimmed bits of Malgrave before and it seemed pretty good, though I am partial to theory readers and there are quite a few of them, a survey is a little different than primary ones but worth reading for sure. I'm not really working on that article at the moment and don't really plan to anytime soon but I like reading what other people add there. I have a few articles going on my desktop but am considering sending them elsewhere if I develop them, not sure though I just might leave them unfinished. dvd rw 00:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks

Schubert
[edit]Why did you delete edits by 67.81.196.248 at Schubert? Possibly you confused 67.81.196.248 with 74.68.46.205, who was vandalizing the page by inserting "Paramus" as the birthplace, instead of Vienna, Austria. I don't vandalize pages, and would appreciate if you would revoke the block. You reverted back to an inferior version, IMO, one which quotes the same epitaph twice, except the first time, a garbled version:
First instance: "Grillparzer wrote this inscription on Schubert's tomb: "The art of music here entombed a rich possession but far fairer hopes"."
Final instance: "This is perhaps best expressed in the epitaph on his tombstone written by the poet Franz Grillparzer: "Here music has buried a treasure—but even fairer hopes".
And you unwikified Vienna Austria. I think that sentence should read "Schubert was born in Vienna, Austria on the last day of January, 1797..." --because repeating the exact form of the birthdate in the first line, without variance, is not preferable. Urban2 21:41, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
67.81.196.248 changed it to Paramus and 74.68.46.205 to Palisades Park, New Jersey. I reverted those edits. dvdrw 21:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks!...& I have since realized that ALL anonymous edits are banned at Schubert, my valid edit simply got thrown out 'with the bathwater.' I'll re-instate it soon. Urban2 21:51, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
They aren't banned really. Which one was yours? dvdrw 21:53, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]I blocked him without further warning. Given that his previous vandalsim was also to articles on Greek mythology, and he'd been warned repeatedly by others, I felt this action was appropriate. --Scimitar | parley 21:23, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, let's just say I'm not going to unblock ;-) dvdrw 21:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Block of User:209.78.98.27
[edit]The said IP you blocked is registered to Los Angeles Public Library's proxy server. I am not sure if that's a open proxy (& I have no way of determining that), though the user is requesting an unblock review. --WinHunter (talk) 23:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- I unblocked that address, I trust them and will take their word, but I'll see later if I can verify that this is a library proxy. dvdrw 00:16, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- The RDNS of the IP resolves to la-proxy2.lapl.org, so I think it should be it. --WinHunter (talk) 01:40, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
What the hell is with your name?
[edit]You may think I'm vandalizing wikipedia, but at least I didn't name myself after a form of electronic media. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.202.76.122 (talk) 04:51, 28 January 2007 (UTC).

well, please tell your friend not to do that anymore. dvdrw 10:40, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey DVD, How've you been? Do you know any good images that you can add to the rotation for the portal? Many of the images there now are the architecture Featured pics - in portrait format to fit the Portal section. There's 4 images that are duplicates now that need new images, but please refresh any of the 60 images anytime. Hope to see you around. —Dogears (talk • contribs) 15:37, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I've been okay. So you know, I've been on a sabbatical away from architecture for the time being, and am planning a full wikibreak soon. Since you asked, I looked at this slide show and what I noticed is that one of the images is licensed as fair use, and I can't think of any to add. Fair use is not supposed to be used outside of article space, btw. Maybe I'll think of something later. You may be interested to know that I started an NRHP article on my desktop, however, it will probably just stay there. I hope to see you around too, dvdrw 22:32, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Look at this
[edit]Here,[2] you blocked that Ip address for a month. However, little did you know it was a shared Ip registered to an institute of technology I think you better soften the block. Retiono Virginian 14:21, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
it is already (anon. only, autoblock enabled), i think that's fine for now. dvdrw 22:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
