2021 CONCACAF U-17 Championship moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2021 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article Kaleigh Riehl has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
fails WP:NFOOTY
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Hello WOSO editors! Fall Focus: FA WSL articles
See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Women's football task force/Initiatives/FA WSL to collaborate and organize with other editors. Every little bit helps! Thanks for your contributions!
WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

[edit]Direct, reliable sources needed for Days of the Year pages
[edit]You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct reliable sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without a reliable source as a reference are now being reverted on-sight.
Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.
Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 04:02, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello. Besides the need for direct reliable sources per WP:DOYCITE, we also require that people from the world of sport, entertainment, media, etc. must have achieved something exceptional within their field. It is difficult in WP:BIRTHDOY and WP:DEATHDOY to be specific about outstanding achievements but if you compare Becky Sauerbrunn with Kristie Mewis, I'm sure you will agree that the former is definitely an over-achiever while the latter, albeit notable, is nothing special. Please note that I've expanded the Sauerbrunn entry to say how she is noteworthy, given that February 25 is a fully upgraded article.
You have said that Mewis should be in the Wiki-calendar article because "a player with 16 national team caps is considered noteworthy". If you think about how many people since the beginning of international sport (not just football) have taken part in 16 events and we tried to include all of them in these articles, it would be a massive breach of WP:UNDUE to say the least. While WP:BIRTHDOY mentions "multiple international events", sixteen is nowhere near enough without winning the World Cup or whatever. Someone with 100-plus international caps is obviously noteworthy but we don't want to be specific about the number because someone with 72 appearances might be much more noteworthy than someone with 102 (for example, depending on which teams they represented).
You also need to read WP:BRD because when someone reverts your edit, your next step is to discuss at a talk page and gain consensus, not to reinput without consensus. If you do that, you could be accused of WP:EDITWAR. Thank you. No Great Shaker (talk) 12:10, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
