[edit]Dr. Rao, my name is Qwyrxian, and I'm an editor and administrator here at Wikipedia. I can understand why you'd want to remove that information from that article (I'm assuming here that you are Dr. Rao), but unfortunately, our policies say it should stay. You described the information as "private" and "personal", but it really isn't either, since it was written up in several major US newspapers. That means the information is now public. As with any biography, no matter where it is published, it is generally the case that both positive and negative information will be included. While we do require that negative information about living people be carefully scrutinized, this information meets our standards, because it is very well sourced, and also because, in this case, the result was a guilty verdict (we wouldn't, for example, always include negative allegations that are withdrawn or not proven in court). Just like you can't control what the Houston Press writes about you, you also can't control the information in the Wikipedia article about you. I hope this explains why we can't allow you to remove that information. If you have questions, please post them here or on my talk page and I will try to explain further.
