License tagging for File:Nahid Angha.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nahid Angha.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:05, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Submission successful

[edit]
Nahid Angha, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

Note there are still a couple of issues: three of the references were not linked to a location in the text. To clear up the resulting errors, I have added them in places which seemed appropriate, but you may wish to check these: reference 7, 11 and 14. Also, the image still needs it's copyright status to be confirmed, as in section above. Skeowsha (talk) 14:19, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Shah Nazar Seyyed Dr. Ali Kianfar.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shah Nazar Seyyed Dr. Ali Kianfar.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:57, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Conflict of interest editing

[edit]

Information icon Hello, DBlakeRoss. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Nahid Angha, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 05:51, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DBlakeRoss: Have you read over this? Please note the third bullet in particular - the need to disclose your conflict of interest. Iskandar323 (talk) 05:58, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Melcous@Iskandar323
I am not compensated for any contributions on wikipedia, including Nahid Angha's biography. Nor do I have any formal relationship with the subject. Most importantly, I have attempted to meet all requirements of wikipedia guidelines for BLP and respond to input from other editors. I fully support wikipedia's rules. DBlakeRoss (talk) 18:32, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Would you be willing to clarify why you said you have no "formal relationship" and whether you have any other relationship? The fact that you have uploaded photographs of the subject as your own work would suggest that you have had some connection with them? Melcous (talk) 23:23, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I asked IAS.org for permission to run their pictures which they initially allowed but later retracted when it became necessary to make them public property (wikimedia commons). DBlakeRoss (talk) 00:30, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are you a follower/friend of Nahid Angha and part of the IAS? Is she your shaykha/pir? Zaynab1418 (talk) 05:07, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not a follower, not a friend and not a member. I have the same general interest (apparently) in Islam, the Middle East and Sufism as the three of you and I want to tell a fair story, just like you. I think my actions indicate that.
Re: conflict, the reason you and @Melcousand @Iskandar323removed or asked to remove some of the hagiographical aspects of my writing is the same as why I don't think conflict with MTO is a fair depiction. BLPs are not supposed to be overly positive nor overly critical.
He has a problem with her. I can't find any writing where she claims to be the sole successor or have any problem with him or what he's doing. None. And she's doing something completely different with IAS than he is doing with MTO. So, I agree that a conflict paragraph would be appropriate if they were competing for successorship, but that's just not the case. DBlakeRoss (talk) 20:00, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I find it really hard to believe you do not have a personal connection to her. Do you know her in real life? Do you know her husband? Have you written for IAS? You aren't the sole arbitrator of what is appropriate for Wikipedia and what is not. Like I said on her page, there are other pages on religious leadership disputes. I don't have anything against her, and you can see from my account I mainly create and improve pages on Muslim women, so if anything I'm sympathetic. I'm not even a Shia and I'm not and have never been an MTO member. Zaynab1418 (talk) 21:19, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
