Hi!

[edit]

Hey, DA; good to see you! Welcome aboard. I know you'll like it.

You might want to add {{Babel-2|en|perl}} to your user page. (Actually, I think you have to put a hyphen and a number after the perl to reflect level: perl-1, perl-2, etc., up to perl-4.) This'll replace the Category:user_en.

Give me a shout on the talk page if you have any questions you think I can answer for you. Jdavidb (talk) 13:42, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi sweetie. I'm pursuing you around Wikipedia, rather than around our house...--Snowdan 15:43, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well hi there yourself, from across the continent! DAllen\talk 17:13, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Surnames

[edit]

Glad you were able to answer your own question, just cuz I don't know what to call that punctuation mark. Just letting you know I wasn't ignoring you, I just hadn't seen the message until now.Bjones 02:03, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the Afterlife (or lack of emphasis on it)

[edit]

I did not want to get into a revert-war. The "programmed" Friends may be more into afterlife but the Hicksite ones sure are not. Carrionluggage 00:58, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Hopefully my rewrite will help with NPOV. ...The statement "Most Friends strongly believe in an afterlife" might even be strictly true going by simple majority of numbers world-wide, most Quakers are in Africa, after all, but it certainly wouldn't be NPOV.

Wikimedia Canada

[edit]

Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 01:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cornell

[edit]

I have just started WikiProject Cornell University, an attempt to thoroughly cover topics related to Cornell. If you would like to participate, you can visit the project page, where you can join the project and see a list of open tasks. Thanks! —mercuryboardtalk 05:21, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Frank Tompa.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Frank Tompa.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:32, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially dead source for File:Dohány Synagogue3.jpg

[edit]

Hello, and thank you (possibly belatedly) for your contribution to Wikipedia.

Whilst it's almost certainly, not something you could have necessarily foreseen when you uploaded, it appears some media you previously uploaded appears to be currently sourced to a dead link. This isn't your fault as linkrot occurs on a regular basis.

I am leaving this message to encourage you to revisit this upload with a view to finding an archived copy of the media (such as from a site like) archive.org, or to provide additional information which would allow a replacement to be located if needed.

Please consider revisiting it and replace the reference with a link to an archived copy on site such as archive.org, or provide additional information which would allow a replacement source to be located.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further please use the Talk page for the media concerned.
