"I generally try to make sure there is a neutral point of view in the entries I read. Wikipedia is not a battle ground for political games."
- generally!?! - a neutral point of view is in the eye of the beholder
Maybe you should be careful to not confuse your point of view with the neutral point of view, then any self righteous tendancies you may or may not have will be minimized.
Simply put. There is no such thing as a neutral point of view. - TheWoodmanIII
We can test the above comment. Read the page on Masaharu Homma as the above commentor TheWoodmanIII had it. Which is actually a neutral point of view? TheWoodmanIII wants to make a judgement on Homma in the place of fact. I beleive my edits were in the pursuit of a neutral article while TheWoodmanIII was obviously biased.
And we can test Cyclonus's comment. Here is what he wrote on my talk page:
You think to lecture me about a neutral point of view when yours was so obviously biased? I beleive my comments are neutral while yours are merely a judgement on a long dead person. Moreover, did any of my changes to the article appear to show "self righteous tendancies"? A neutral point of view is a goal that may never be reached, but you seem to beleive that I unbalanced the article in some way. Where? Comment on the page if you can find my bias. "You think to lecture?" "Obviously Biased?" "I believe my comments are neutral while yours are merely a judgement...."
These are the comments that lead me to now to a belief that you have a "self righteous point of view." Note above I said, "any self righteous tendancies you may or may not have." Since my whole comment was and is: Only through insight that one brings a point of view and biases to everything we do, can one approach an unbiased position. It would have been improper to so judge you then... now I'm willing to go out on a limb and remove the qualifiers.
One last try for now, Cyclonus... I don't own right and you don't own right. Chill out and stop stating that you are the neutralizer... the only neutral people are dead people, everyone else brings their collective experiences.
