Someone edited your user page
I don't know if you noticed, but someone posted a talk page message on your user page. Personally, I never notice stuff like that. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 11:47, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- NinjaRobotPirate Yep, did not notice it either. Thanks! - Cwobeel (talk) 15:29, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Hi Cwobeel,
Unfortunately when you reverted my edit back to Sigehelmus, you also reverted my "Clean Up" edit, which means that Ref No 99 and Ref No 100 now have the same issues as before. I am not going to resolve this issue again as this article appears is ripe for edit warring so any edit I do will probably be reverted again. Best wishes. SethWhales talk 19:54, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ooops, sorry. - Cwobeel (talk) 20:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Wanted to let you know
that i adjusted your section header at User talk:ParkH.Davis from "3RR Waring" to "3RR Warning" (since the original seemed to probably be an error). If my edit altered the intent of that section header, apologies all-around. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 07:56, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the archiving on Talk:2015 Colorado Springs shooting
That one editor just adheres so strongly to WP:IDHT...wanted to make my views clear as mud and to re-iterate that the two links he was using to bolster his views were opinion-essays/talk-page discussions, not policy or guideline. Sometimes people don't look beyond the provided bluelinks... Cheers, Shearonink (talk) 19:53, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Hey we are editing Teen online dating as part of an assignment for our Master's course. the original article did not have any relevant citations so we were going to edit the article and include them. Could the page be restored so that we can make the changes you have suggested? Groot12 (talk) 03:00, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
Teen online dating
Hi. We are editing Teen online dating as part of our assignment in our Master's course. The original article did not have any citations either so we were going to include them as part of our edits from your suggestion. Could the page be restored so that we can make the edits? Groot12 (talk) 03:05, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Groot12: The article content is in the page history (this is a wiki, so all edits are preserved). - Cwobeel (talk) 04:00, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Groot12: Best would be to work on the article on a sandbox. I have created a sandbox for you at User:Groot12/Sandbox and copied the content there. Once you have added the citations, ping me her and I will assist you to move it to main space. - Cwobeel (talk) 04:04, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
NY Daily News as a RS
I looked through the WP reliable sources noticeboard, and at no point was there a time when the New York Daily News was deemed a source that could not be used in WP:BLPs. It is generally regarded as a reliable source, so I am curious as to why you don't think it qualifies as a reliable source in the 2015 San Bernardino shooting article?--Tdl1060 (talk) 05:03, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Tdl1060: The NYDN is a tabloid, and for BLPs we need better sourcing than that. In addition, your edit cherry picked material in an UNDUE fashion. Please discuss in talk, I opened a thread there. - Cwobeel (talk) 05:06, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- I did not cherry pick anything, I readded what had been added before. If you feel that the mention of Farook's religion added undue weight to that topic, then you should have removed it on that basis. The fact that the New York Daily News is in tabloid format has no bearing on its applicability as a reliable source. Plenty of reliable newspapers are in tabloid format as opposed to broadsheet. It is not a "supermarket tabloid" like the National Enquirer and the Weekly World News. Nevertheless, I am not going to get into a long drawn out discussion in talk, because frankly I don't really care whether it is included, and I am sure more details will come out soon enough that will make this whole debate moot. My objection was simply the reason that you gave for removing the content. --Tdl1060 (talk) 05:27, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Alpine County, California, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Posse Comitatus. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

About javelins used by the Almogavars
You unmade the corrections I made on Javelin page, section on Almogavars in Iberia. You classify my edit as vandalism and your message said I did no contribution. This is nonsense, I corrected an error: you chnaged back without knowledge of Almogavers, which I do since I'm Catalan, I studied them at school, and can read the Catalan Wikipedia for related information.
Contributing to Wikipedia is becoming tedious. The section stated that Almogavars were Aragonese, which is untrue, they were Catalans, so I changed it. In fact, the official name of Almogavars was the Companyia Catalana (Catalan Company), which you can check in the English and Catalan pages on the Almogavars. Moreover, the javelin they used was called dard (in Catalan) not azcona (in Spanish), but if you was to use the English words the use javelin, but not azcona. have a nice day EnricX (talk) 15:08, 6 December 2015 (UTC) EnricX
- EnricX, This may have been a false positive, while I was patrolling recent changes yesterday to fight vandalism. My apologies. - Cwobeel (talk) 15:10, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

images
Are not used to show "public expression" about a topic, but are supposed to help readers. In the case at hand, there is plenty of information in the section, and the image adds nil to the Bill Cosby BLP at all that I can see. Cheers. Collect (talk) 16:45, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

FYI
I appreciate the good tidings on my user page, but you may want to go back and modify your addition of this holiday message to other talk pages as you need to add |} to the end to prevent it from bleeding into other, subsequent comments. See my talk page history for the problem faced by Yopienso and my eventual fix. See also NE Ent's talk page. Viriditas (talk) 05:23, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- Fixed mine. Can't remove the tidings until after the holidays, it wouldn't be right, so thx for the tip. ―Mandruss ☎ 07:55, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
CS1 publisher
Re: [2]
Appears to be contrary to CS1 guidance for |publisher=
:
Name of publisher; may be wikilinked if relevant. The publisher is the company that publishes the work being cited. Do not use the publisher parameter for the name of a work (e.g. a book, encyclopedia, newspaper, magazine, journal, website). Not normally used for periodicals. Corporate designations such as "Ltd", "Inc" or "GmbH" are not usually included. Omit where the publisher's name is substantially the same as the name of the work (for example, The New York Times Co. publishes The New York Times newspaper, so there is no reason to name the publisher).
I've found that |work=
or |website=
work best for most news sources. It's non-trivial because changing to |publisher=
actually alters the citation as seen by the reader, unlike the difference between |work=
and |website=
, which are aliases. Do you know something I don't? ―Mandruss ☎ 09:24, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Mandruss: I am using a script for these fixes. Details at User:Ohconfucius/script/Sources. Maybe you can ask the question there, so that if there is an issue with the script, it can be fixed by the author. Many use that script to bring cites up to MOS standards. - Cwobeel (talk) 15:11, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ok I'll go there. BTW/FYI, I didn't get your ping because the valid ping and your signature must be added in the same edit. ―Mandruss ☎ 16:54, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
