This wasn't to promote a product, this is a new 50BMG Rifle that I felt like needed to be put onto the rifles page. I am not being compensated anything.

Be aware that WP:SPAMLINKS are a violation of WP:PROMO, and are grounds for being banned, even if you are not being compensated and you believe you are acting in good faith. Could you replace the words "your proposed new username" in your request with your choice of username? It makes the rename process easier.
