Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Curioussolutions, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as WiTZ (board game), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Northamerica1000(talk) 10:11, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on WiTZ (board game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1803298-New-App-WiTZ-Turf-v1-1-WITH-ALTERNATE-TURF-WITS-IS-TOUGH!. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Please see reasons below 1. The content is not meant for promotional purpose. This is the first time we are using Wikipedia for explaining game content and concept. We did not mean to misuse it. 2. The howard forums content is owned by Curious Solutions. It is not a copyright infringement. UTC

Decline reason:

Your username is intrinsically promotional, being the name of a company, and must be changed; use {{unblock-un}}. your deleted article is also promotionall, and is unacceptable in the form in which you created it. You are editing on behalf of a company, which is not allowed, and it appears from your unblock request that this account is being used by more than one person, which is also not allowed. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 10:01, 4 July 2013 (UTC))[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • The problem with the content is that while you might not have intended to be promotional, it came across as such with you calling the game "smart" and linking to a page for people to get the game from. This is seen as unambiguously promotional on here. Also, the other issue is that even if you posted the content on the forum, we cannot use information that has been posted elsewhere. It's just not what we can accept. Of course there is also the issue of notability for the product. Even if we unblock you, this product doesn't have any notability per Wikipedia's notability guidelines (WP:GNG). Even if you were unblocked, the game would still not pass notability guidelines and any attempt to re-add it would end in the page getting deleted. I can't really see where you have the intent to do anything other than add the game to Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:48, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
