Speedy deletion nomination of Severance town center
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Severance town center, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. →Στc. 19:31, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited McCain Mall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Central Mall (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]Hello, I'm 117Avenue. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page West Edmonton Mall, because to me it seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 21:55, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
Hello to you. I am rather displeased that the link I added to the WEST EDMONTON MALL article [ http://shoppingmallmuseum.blogspot.com/search/label/Alberta%27s%20West%20Edmonton%20Mall ] has been deleted. I composed this article myself. It has been THROUGHLY RESEARCHED and is as factually accurate as I could make it. My sources are listed at the bottom of said article and ALL photographs are properly credited.
As for the chronologically-advancing site plans in the article...I drew these myself (taking many, many hours to do so). I feel that the inclusion of these site plans, themselves, provide a UNIQUE and INTERESTING perspective to the WEM article (on my "Shopping Mall Museum" website) that is unavailable anyplace else on the internet (certainly not in the current Wikipedia article).
I realize that some of the "moderators" here at Wiki have decided that my two "mall" sites (on Blogger) are merely "fansites"...A THOROUGHLY-RESEARCHED and ACCURATE article about Cleveland, Ohio's SEVERANCE CENTER was deleted...leaving NO article -whatsoever- about this important mid-20th century shopping center, which was the first fully-enclosed mall in the state of Ohio (I STILL think that the article I composed should be UNdeleted, but this is another matter).
I realize that -according to some around here- I am not an authority on shopping malls. However, I doubt that they realize that I have been working -nearly every day- on these two "mall" websites for nearly 6 YEARS. Far be it from me to say...but I feel that my dedication to recording this subject -without monetary gain- for all of these years qualifies me for something. I will also add that Mr. David Bodamer, Editor-In-Chief at New York City's RETAIL TRAFFIC trade publication has mentioned my "Mall Hall of Fame" site...calling it "extremely well done", with "a ton of great information". Here is the link...
http://blog.retailtrafficmag.com/retail_traffic_court/2008/02/28/the-mall-hall-of-fame/
So, please read through my WEST EDMONTON MALL article and indicate exactly what is inaccurate about it....or why it is not as good as (or better than) many of the badly-written and/or innacurate shopping mall articles currently available on Wikipedia (these same articles NOT being deleted...when my "Severance Center" article -and "West Edmonton Mall" link- were). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Curator2 (talk • contribs) 15:49, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- So you understand why self-published sources are wrong, and why we prefer reliable sources? 117Avenue (talk) 22:38, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
"Self-published" wrong? Depends on the sources. Yes, what is on my sites is written by me...but I have gone to greater measures than you could probably ever fathom to put these details together. AND I reiterate here the opinion(s) of Mr. David Bodamer of RETAIL TRADE (a MAJOR "reliable source" industry publication) who obviously is a "reliable" authority here .
My sites are NOT just something thrown haphazardly together. A LOT of mall articles on Wiki are thrown together and are grossly innacurate, as well as being poorly written. Why don't "we" at Wiki go in and correct -and delete- some of these articles OR delete all of the "UNreliable source" links placed on these articles....and get off my back here....for a minute?
Writing
[edit]Please try to stay neutral in your writing on Wikipedia. Terms like "acres of ashpalt". aren't good... neither is using ellipses... like this. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 00:04, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. [edit]Please don't bold more than the name of the article. Also, please don't use dashes - like this - as it doesn't look nice (e.g. "it opened - in 1968"). Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 04:59, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Summit Place Mall, but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 07:58, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
