Image tagging
Are you sure that Image:African Adventure Striped Hyena.JPG is public domain? Since it is a screenshot of a copyrighted computer game, it looks like fair use. --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 20:59, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
RE: Image tagging
Good point, I'm not sure. Well, if somebody genetically engineered an extinct animal, would any pictures of it be up? By the way, African Adventure striped hyena is a screenshot I TOOK MYSELF.
- Perhaps so, but it's not from a computer game you made yourself. --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 23:40, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
You know you're right. How do I change the image tagging? --Cuddly Panda 07:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- It appears as you just did. Unfortunately, since they're fair use, you'll need to take the Zoo Tycoon screenshots off of your user page. Thank you for your cooperation!
The Photographer's Barnstar | ||
I award you this barnstar for providing excellent images on Wikipedia! Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 11:47, 6 November 2006 (UTC) |
YES! Thank you SO much for the barnstar, can I put it on my userpage to prove I got it? Butit's too bad I have to remove those pictures... :(
- Go ahead and put it on your page if you like! It may be unfortunate that you have to remove the pictures, but at least they're useful to the encyclopedia. --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 01:40, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Page protection
Hi, I noticed you kepp putting a protection template on the Zoo Tycoon 2: Dino Danger Pack article. This is just to let you know that adding the {{sprotect}} tag does not apply protection, and it doesn't even deter vandals. Only administrators can apply protection. You can request protection from an administrator or at Requests for page protection. Do however read up on the protection policy, because it's not something we generally like to do. Please don't put a protection tag on an unprotected article. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 01:53, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
OK, sorry, just some stupid idiot is putting on unofficial information for the articles even AFTER THE GAME IS RELEASED.--Cuddly Panda 07:56, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
recreating deleted material
Please don't recreate material after it is deleted. If you wish to undo the deletion, then go to WP:DRV. If you create it again on your own, I will view this as an act of vandalism, and block your account. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- What did I recreate? --Cuddly Panda 23:53, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:WP2 Smilodon.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:WP2 Smilodon.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:09, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello!!!
Well, I just wanted to make contact with someone from ZA! I've been downloading the stuff and reading the forums for months. I'm not a member yet, though I plan to register. For the time being, I'll just make contact with you, if you think it's OK. First thing first, you wrote that article about EA, right? Where did you get all that information? You can call me Fennec Nichov, or just Fennec, as that is the username I plan on using if, I mean, when I join ZA. Oh, and maybe you can alert the ZA to my presence, and tell them what I think, though if you think that I'm making you my slave, you don't have to do it LOL. And one more thing.... tell me I AM going to join... just not now. Don't know how long it's going to be, but for the time being I'll just make con... Wait, I already said that right? Oh well. Dora Nichov 00:44, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Well hello there! :) Good to see some more Zoo Admin lovers! Yes, I did do the Extinct Animals article - I got all the information from the xternal links, except of course the 'last expansion' bit, which Scott said 'Don't worry - there is a future for Zoo 2!' and George Valavanis (music maker) said he had worked on an unnanounced ZT2 XP and a NEXT-GEN TITLE, followed by two expansons for the next gen title. Now Fennec, I will tell of you in the Introductions thread, okay? And when you do, let's be buddies! :D You might also want to join Animals101, just mentioning it because it would be nice to have an active member! Yours Sincerley (spelling), --Cuddly Panda 22:24, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! And I might need you to send more messages... (again, don't do it if you don't want) Ahhh... I really shouldn't be asking you to do this. You're only 11, after all. Oops, not "only", I'm not much older, I'm... Wait, I'm a safety-first sort of person, so I won't say it directly. I'll just say, if you're 11 now, I'm older but I still need to ask for permission to join ZA. But this year I'll turn ** and I won't have to. Back on topic: But I just had to make contact with someone at ZA! If you're going to introduce me to ZA, you can say anything on my userpage (emphasize the fact I like animals and ZT2!), except the wolf part. On ZA, I'm always fennec fox. The only reason I turn into a wolf here is to scare vandals away. And if they persist, let's just say things may get ugly LOL. Thanks again! Dora Nichov 01:33, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I will join ZA in say... a while. Which means several moths, er, months! Be patient. Dora Nichov 14:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
What is the best game you've played in ZT2? (eg animal fighting, guest abusing, etc) I sometimes do a watery maze. First I put the animals in a maze/racetrack then fill it up with shallow water. However, that rarely turns out good. The animals just get sick. Animal fighting is more, uh, dramatic! I put in a bunch of meerkats and dwarf mongooses and put three hyenas in and watch the show. I also put water in the middle as a "border between <insert animal> land and <insert animal> land" LOL. Or put all the cats together and see who wins etc etc. Guest abusing is fun too LOL. All the animals running around and sending the guests running out of my zoo... Oh, and I've also done a live lizard survival game in which I put a bunch of live lizards and predators and see who makes it. It's easier than you think, as the secretary birds easily get stuck in deep water (though I've seen them fly over). Did you know the live lizards can swim? Dora Nichov 04:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
More stuff for Fennec
ZA is the place to discuss that kinda thing. I found that all the marine animals cn live in fresh water, so I created an ocean, filled it with islands (each with a different biome) and watched the show!
Joining ZA isn't a huge deal. Why wait? Oh, just a warning - the staff there are very strict. They are like secuirirty machines - they stick to the rules, like programming. I do know some poeple that have sent rude personal messgaes to the tsff saying they've had enough, and, consequently, get banned. --Cuddly Panda 09:03, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Really!? Whoa! I'm normally good at obeying rules, but I can still get nervous though. I don't have MM2 yet... too bad. (The country I'm living in now doesn't sell ANY ZT procucts, be it ZT or ZT2. I got my copies of ZT2, AA and ES when I visited the USA, where I was born. Dora Nichov 13:48, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
What about the Dino Danger Pack?--Cuddly Panda 22:02, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't have that either. Dora Nichov 06:26, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Do you know why I'm waiting? Fennec foxes are very cautious... Dora Nichov 12:16, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
LOL :) --Cuddly Panda 22:04, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
Yeah... Dora Nichov 00:19, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Things are SOOOOOOO annoying here! You can't even buy ZT2 stuff with Amazon.com 'cause ZT stuff doesn't ship here! GRRR... Dora Nichov 12:29, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Plus that 71.131-something guy is getting on my nerves... Woolly mammoth... yeah right. Dora Nichov 12:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Did you see his talk page? So... (See "BAN ME CHANT" section). Dora Nichov 03:43, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Wow, you added yourself to my "friends" section, thanks! Ahhh... ZA is moving... Dora Nichov 00:37, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Yup, thought I might as well. :P --Cuddly Panda 10:59, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Er, what happened to Animals 101? Dora Nichov 10:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
Because I can't seem to get in. Dora Nichov 00:44, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
Do you have this problem? Dora Nichov 01:12, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Zoo closed it 'cos it 'got out of hand'. I know. He told noone. --Cuddly Panda 01:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm... Oh well. What got out of hand? Dora Nichov 02:16, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Evolution vs Creation, apparently --Cuddly Panda 02:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh. But didn't we remove that? Dora Nichov 02:38, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yep. But Adam1990 told Zoo he was leaving and Zoo closed it because of this. I wish he didn't. Go to CyberCheetah for more. --Cuddly Panda 02:54, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
I couldn't find anything but it's sad anyway. Big shame. And it's doubly sad for me because now I can't access my two favorite sites! Dora Nichov 03:25, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for improving my userpage! Dora Nichov 09:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Cuddly Panda! I am a friend of Dora Nichov and I would like to comment on your userpage. I don't really think you should write your age on your userpage. Do you know what I mean? I mean... it's not really safe. Radical3 22:09, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Dragon_Clan.jpg
I have tagged Image:Dragon_Clan.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Non-free use disputed for Image:JPOG.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:JPOG.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Commercial use of Image:Teratornis-merriami-lg.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Teratornis-merriami-lg.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Teratornis-merriami-lg.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Teratornis-merriami-lg.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:41, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Dino Danger Pack Tyrannosaurus.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dino Danger Pack Tyrannosaurus.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:26, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:IMlogofinal3.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:IMlogofinal3.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. A tag has been placed on List of Flanimals, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.150.188.38 15:48, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use images in the Jurassic Park portal:
Copied from mentioned portal's talk page: Hi there! I noticed you have a lot of fair use images in your portal - generally you should stay away from fair use images except when needed (for example; expressing a diagram or object integral to the article) & when you do actually use those pictures you need to place fair use rationale on the image page. To see how to write image rationale see examples such as Image:Batmanlee.png & Image:JPvelociraptor.png (Place these names into the search bar) or see Fair Use Rationale & Not-free Content. Will forward this message onto creator, but generally, use free images. Spawn Man 05:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Nonsense of Portal:Jurassic Park/Quotes
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Portal:Jurassic Park/Quotes, by 209.83.47.175 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Portal:Jurassic Park/Quotes provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Portal:Jurassic Park/Quotes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:57, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Portals, templates, etc
I've had to edit quite a few templates tonight relating to your portal to remove fair use images. They should never be used outside of articles, and as such I have removed them from Portal:Jurassic Park and there was one removed from Template:JPPortal. It's good that you want to make a portal, but you need to use only free images on them.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:20, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

- If you want the image outside the table when the page displays, it'll need to be outside the table in the page source -- either above or below it (you'll probably have better luck slipping it in above the
{|
line that starts the table). If you wanted to place it aligned with a particular cell in the table, without actually being in the table, that'll be getting... complicated. :p But if you just want an image floating next to the table, slipping it in above should work, provided there's enough room between the edge of the table and the edge of the content area. – Luna Santin (talk) 08:03, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
