John A. McDougall

[edit]

Hello Csmcdougall. Thanks for you email. I'll reply here for the purpose of transparency, if that is ok with you. Our naming convention (see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)) discourages using academic titles in titles. Disambiguation with a middle initial is typically the most suitable way. There is currently a request for speedy deletion of the article. I happen to think that McDougall may well fulfill our notability requirements for inclusion in Wikipedia, but the article will have to be re-written with the following in mind:

  • WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV. The article very much reads like an advert, and has a sympathetic tone, rather than a neutral tone.
  • WP:V and WP:N. There is no third party, reliable sources telling why he is notable.
  • WP:COI. I can't help noticing that your username suggests a relationship with the subject. This means you are probably not the ideal person to be writing an article on McDougall.

If I can be of further assistance, do let me know. Rockpocket 23:52, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
