Yes, we already had a few photos by this time last year. Hopefully some will turn up in the next few days; if not, we still have a couple of photos from Maldonado's Venezuelan demonstration.--Midgrid(talk) 23:16, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Nationwide Series
Are you all going to include the NASCAR Nationwide Series in the table on Portal: Current events/Sports? I'm asking because I seen the thread about it on the portals talk page. --Nascar199601:06, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I wanted to know before I considered adding this month's races like I did with the Sprint Cup Series. Nascar1996 01:17, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

For keeping the results on the cycling season articles up-to-date. It actually saves me a TON of work, and I prefer to write prose anyway. Thanks a bunch! Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 20:22, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Nice job on the lead for 2011 Tirreno–Adriatico, which passed GA in the blink of an eye. Saved me from having to whip one up. See, prose writing's not that hard! ;) Green-eyed girl(Talk · Contribs) 03:37, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Haven't recovered yet
From that late late goal... I knew if Arsenal put out their best team, we'd have no chance - but that weaker selection gave us an opportunity. When our best shot on goal hit Mr Squeaky square in the mush, I thought it was over, but then our supersub did the job. The replay earns us enough money to cover next year's losses as well as this year's. Awesome!!!! I'm betting that Wenger chooses a better team for the replay though... Bretonbanquet(talk) 00:36, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'd be ecstatic about breaking Wenger's record, even though he said some nice things about us after today's game. As you say, let's hope they have a really tough game leading up to the replay, and who knows what'll happen? Man Utd in the quarter final! I'd have to go and lie down in a dark room if that happened ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:49, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Oh yes! If Man Utd put out that team against us, we'd beat them and no mistake. Arsenal played better today than Man Utd did yesterday - even Arsenal fans don't seem to think their team played badly against Orient. So... semi-finals here we come! Hahah... Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:05, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Not this time :( But from what I've seen, Arsenal are being really flattered by this scoreline. How they haven't gifted us a goal yet with their Keystone Cops defending, I'll never know x-( Football.. ugh! Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Don't blame you - Arsenal are just being really irritating. Old Firm derbies usually have the edge over most ties anyway!Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:30, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- Diouf sent off?! Well, I'm shocked - he's such a pleasant, even-tempered chap! Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
- He's just a liability. I don't understand why any club would take him on. Would you want him at Wolves? :)Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:07, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Well said! And that was a great victory - that's the kind of form that will keep you up... keep the faaaiiitthhh!!Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:18, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Sounds to me like a game you can win - Spuds lost to Blackpool not so long ago and they're shaky when they're expected to win. Picking up points will see a steady climb - hopefully there'll be a team that starts dropping like a stone, there's usually one, and that'll help too. I think Wigan might go this time, but the other two spots are anyone's guess. It's so close!Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:29, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'd be sorry to see Holloway/Blackpool go down as well - I'd far rather get rid of Wigan and Satan's West Ham. I have a hunch Blackburn haven't finished dropping - losing to Wigan then getting hammered by Villa - relegation form! Fulham could slip, Everton have lost a few players to injury - Even if I were a betting man, I'd be keeping my money in my pocket!Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:42, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Everyone loves a stroppy feud! Yes, I like Mark Hughes, but Fulham are terrible away from home. If your lot could pick up a few points on your travels, it would definitely keep you up. Your home form is decent enough! Bretonbanquet(talk) 00:51, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Very true. What is it with teams whose name begins with W this season? Someone should tell them it's not about alphabetical order! Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:59, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hope not! I'm the newest Arsenal hater after that ass Bendtner thought it'd be funny to mock our fans this evening. They should be ashamed that 9000 Orient fans were louder than 50,000 Arsenal fans... "5-0, and you still don't sing... 5-0 and you still don't sing..." haha.. Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:07, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- "I tell ya, honestly, I will love it.. I will love it if they beat them" hahaha.. I always think of Keegan's rant when I want a team to lose! If Barca put Arsenal out of the Champions League, then *cough* Man Utd put them out of the FA Cup, I'll be happy :D Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:19, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

You lot don't mind making it difficult for yourselves, do you?? Hahaha, seriously, I thought you were goners at several points. When that Hunt goal went in, I was punching the air, so God knows what you were doing! Bit sad for Blackpool though, I'd have liked them to stay up too. Major congrats though - make it a bit more comfortable next year!Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:38, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Luckily, half-time scores don't matter! I always think that fans of the big clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea haven't really lived until they've gone through a final-day relegation nail-biter like that. They have it so easy! And I didn't know that about Blackpool - is this because Fulham had Zoltan Gera sent off? If it works out for Blackpool, it'll be a great experience for their fans - good luck to them. Bretonbanquet (talk) 17:58, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- Exactly, I just didn't know where the next goal was coming from and the ups and downs were incredible. And yeah, Birmingham too! Europa League and the Championship. I wonder if they and Blackpool (assuming it's confirmed) will go for it and try and get as far as they can, or just concentrate on bouncing back up. Bittersweet! Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:07, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
- I have a funny feeling that if there's another five-club last-day nailbiter, you'll be involved again! Secretly you all must love it ;) Yeah, it's a lot more games, and if the league starts badly for them, maybe Blackpool or Birmingham might not worry too much about Europe. It'll be fun finding out though :) Bretonbanquet (talk) 19:07, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2010 Price Chopper 400, a recent GA
The 2010 Price Chopper 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on October 3, 2010 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. The 300 lap race was the twenty-ninth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The race was also the third event in the ten round Chase for the Sprint Cup competititon , which would concluded the 2010 season. Greg Biffle, of the Roush Fenway Racing team, won the race, with Jimmie Johnson finishing second and Kevin Harvick third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap to begin the race, as Jeff Gordon, who started in the third position on the grid, remained behind him. Twenty-three laps later Jeff Gordon became the leader of the race. After the final pit stops, Paul Menard became the leader of the race, but with less than fifty laps remaining, Biffle passed him. He maintained the first position to lead a total of sixty laps, and to win his second race of the season. There were five cautions and twenty lead changes among twelve different drivers throughout the course of the race. It was Greg Biffle's second win in the 2010 season, and the sixteenth of his career. The result moved Biffle up to eighth in the Drivers' Championship, eighty-five points behind Jimmie Johnson and sixteen ahead of Jeff Burton. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty-seven ahead of Toyota and seventy-seven ahead of Ford, with seven races remaining in the season. A total of 100,000 people attended the race, while 5.25 million watched it on television. Gamma, I've noticed that a few drivers have had photos uploaded onto the German-language Wikipedia, but have not been uploaded on Wikimedia Commons. (Bianchi, Wittmann and Vernay to name three) I know you have a more native lingual ability of German than what I have, so can you enquire this guy to put them onto Commons, for the ability to post on other language versions. Article of the month – 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix, new Featured Article
The 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix (formally the Formula 1 ING Magyar Nagydíj 2008) was a Formula One motor race held on August 3, 2008, at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, near Budapest, Hungary. It was the 11th race of the 2008 Formula One season. Contested over 70 laps, the race was won by Heikki Kovalainen for the McLaren team, from a second position start. Timo Glock finished second in a Toyota car, with Kimi Räikkönen third in a Ferrari. It was Kovalainen's first Formula One victory, which made him the sport's 100th driver to win a World Championship race, and it was Glock's first podium finish. The majority of the race consisted of a duel between Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, who drove for McLaren and Ferrari, respectively. Hamilton started from pole position but was beaten at the first corner by Massa, who passed him around the outside. The two championship rivals began a battle for the lead that was resolved when Hamilton sustained a punctured tyre just over halfway through the race, giving Massa a lead of more than 20 seconds over Kovalainen. The Ferrari's engine, however, failed with three laps remaining, allowing the McLaren driver to win. Räikkönen set the race's fastest lap in the other Ferrari, but was hampered by a poor qualifying performance and was stuck behind Fernando Alonso (Renault) and Glock in turn for almost all of the race. As a consequence of the race, Hamilton extended his lead in the World Drivers' Championship to five points over Räikkönen, with Massa a further three behind. Robert Kubica, who finished eighth after finding his BMW Sauber car uncompetitive at the Hungaroring, slipped to 13 points behind Hamilton, ahead of teammate Nick Heidfeld and Kovalainen. In the World Constructors' Championship, McLaren passed BMW Sauber for second position, 11 points behind Ferrari. 2011 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season
Edit by 217.124.245.61 - Bautista is DNS? Is that correct - according to MotoGP.com he didn't qualify, so should that be DNQ? Ronhjones (Talk)19:11, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- (WP:JAGUAR) Does it not all depend on when he crashed and had to withdraw? I am of the idea that if it happened prior to quali, then it should go down as either Withdrew, Injured or similar; if it happened during quali, then yes DNQ; and if something happens after quali but before the race, it's a Did Not Start? Article of the month – 2010 Ford 400, a new Good Article
The 2010 Ford 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on November 21, 2010 at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The 267 lap race was the thirty-sixth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the final race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. The race was won by Carl Edwards for the Roush Fenway Racing team. Jimmie Johnson finished second, and Kevin Harvick clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap of the race. Edwards started in the second position on the grid, and became the leader of the race on the fourth lap. Shortly after a restart on lap 22, championship leader Denny Hamlin spun sideways, resulting with damage to his splitter. Martin Truex, Jr. took the lead on lap 73, but after the final pit stops Edwards was first. He maintained the lead to win the race, having led it for 192 laps. A total of 67,000 people attended the race, while 5.605 million watched it on television. There were ten cautions in the race, as well as twenty-five lead changes among nine different drivers. Edwards' victory was his second win in the 2010 season, with the first coming the previous week at the Kobalt Tools 500. Jimmie Johnson won the Drivers' Championship, 39 points ahead of Denny Hamlin. Johnson's team owner Rick Hendrick won the Owners' Championship. Chevrolet won the Manufacturer Championship with 261 points, 44 points ahead of Toyota. Article of the month - 2011 Australian Grand Prix
The 2011 Australian Grand Prix (formally the 2011 Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on 27 March 2011 at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne. It was the 76th race in the combined history of the Australian Grand Prix that dates back to the 100 Miles Road Race of 1928. Originally planned as the second race of the 2011 Formula One season, it became the season opener with the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix due to civil unrest in the country. The race, contested over 58 laps, was won by the reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel, driving for Red Bull Racing, after starting from pole position. Lewis Hamilton finished second in a McLaren, and Renault's Vitaly Petrov completed the podium in third place, the first podium finish of his career and the first podium finish for a Russian national. Football champions
Hi! Look out for championships being decided around Europe (and other continents as well if possible). I just noticed that FC Copenhagen won the Danish title during the last week (see 2010–11 Danish Superliga), and also within the last month APOEL was crowned in Cyprus and probably some other minor countries. The best source is to check history of 2011–12 UEFA Champions League (and likewise 2011–12 UEFA Europa League for cup winners).--Nitsansh (talk) 23:43, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
How the hell
did you get today's update done so fast? I was following live updates on the web, and the second I saw Cunego named the winner, I pulled up the Lampre season page...where you'd already made the necessary edit. The timestamp was exactly the same as the time I saw on the live update. Dangit, can't I scoop you *once*? :-P No, but really, especially with the manner in which he won, not having been with the first group until literally the very end, how on earth did you get it done so fast? how the hell redux...here I am clicking refresh on gazzetta for the intermediate GC to be posted, yet you've already got it? How do you have it before the race itself does? Green-eyed girl(Talk · Contribs) 15:15, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Hahaha, he seems to have lost his marbles or something. He's been involved in the debate, seen what everyone has said, and now he's on some revert-edit-war trip. We're going to have to shop him, I think - any good work he does isn't worth this. Plus Pyrope is going to blow his top ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:01, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, for certain. I've already got an SPI case outlined if an admin says that's more appropriate, and I can add the details to any report we make at ANI. Maybe Pyrope would like to do the deed, since he's itching to do it(!) we could see what he says.Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:09, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hahaha, I think you're right. I'll drop him a line. Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:14, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree. There was a time when he was doing some useful work, but I don't really see that any more. He did threaten to kill me a year or so ago, and I haven't forgotten that either. His time is up, methinks. Bretonbanquet(talk) 18:20, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Started the SPI here, hopefully we'll get a conclusion one way or the other. Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:27, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2011 Budweiser Shootout, a new Good article
The 2011 Budweiser Shootout was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on February 12, 2011 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Contested over 75 laps, it was the first exhibition race of the 2011 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Kurt Busch for the Penske Racing team. Jamie McMurray finished second, and Ryan Newman clinched third. Pole position driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. maintained his lead through the first corner, but Clint Bowyer, who started seventh on the grid, led the first lap. On the 25th lap, the first caution was given, as Jeff Burton became the leader. During the caution all the teams made a pit stop . Two laps later, an accident involving several racecars prompted the second caution to be given. On lap 63, Newman became the leader. He maintained the lead until the final lap, when Denny Hamlin passed him below the yellow line (out of bounds line), as Busch passed him on the other side. Hamlin passed Newman below the yellow line giving the win to Kurt Busch. There were four cautions and 28 lead changes among ten different drivers throughout the course of the race. It was Busch's first win in the 2011 season, as well as his first win at a track that uses restrictor plates, such as Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. A total of 80,000 people attended the race, while 7.8 million watched it on television. Article of the month – 1980 Spanish Grand Prix, currently listed for Peer Review
The 1980 Spanish Grand Prix (formally the XXVI Gran Premio de Espana) was a Formula One motor race held on June 1, 1980 at Circuito Permanente del Jarama. Originally scheduled to be part of the 1980 Formula One World Championship, following the running of the race it was announced that World Championship points would not be awarded to the competitors, making it a non-championship race. The winner of the race was Alan Jones, driving for the Williams team. Jochen Mass finished second for Arrows and Elio de Angelis third for Team Lotus. Owing to disputes as part of the FISA-FOCA war, the race went ahead without the teams of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Renault, because the Fédération Internationale du Sport Automobile (FISA), then the governing body of Formula One, had declared the race illegal. The other teams drove the race, now sanctioned by the Formula One Constructors Association (FOCA). All teams competing in the race ran Ford engines. Carlos Reutemann, Nelson Piquet and Didier Pironi all retired from the race whilst in the lead, Reutemann due to a collision and Pironi and Piquet because of mechanical problems. Only six of the twenty-two drivers who took the start of the race made it to the end, and only three were on the lead lap. Template...
Do you believe that there should be a template, such as Template:2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup? I find it pointless. Look at the season article for the races. This is included on every race article so far this year. --Nascar1996 (talk •contribs) 19:32, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

Marc VDS
Crap, I just realized what I did wrong. I loaded the Race Facts on the GT1 Media Site while going through the results to see the reasons for retirement, but I failed to notice that I had accidentally loaded the Race Facts for Abu Dhabi, where the 40 Marc VDS Ford did not start the Championship Race. I've corrected it.The359 (Talk) 19:07, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well I'm like you, GT1's live steam of the races no longer works on the US following Zolder, so I never saw the incidents. I merely go off of the race reports, then use the Race Facts to try and figure out the cause of retirements since it's not listed in the PDFs. The359 (Talk) 19:14, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

I've never been superstitious or anything, but I can't shake that old saying just now, after learning of today's tragedy. I guess I can take small solace that this one wasn't shown on international television. Jeez, it is not easy to be a cycling fan right now. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs)04:18, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
