You did that wrong

Something vital

I added some more refs to this article and deleted the prod, but I suspect that this will not meet your threshold. If not, please AfD it, so it can go to a review. It was prod'ed a couple of weeks ago, so I added some refs and deleted the prod then. Since those edits you prod'ed it, that probably means that it needs to go to a review. I don't have an interest in this article except that I don't like to see potentially valid articles die for lack of "love", even silly pointless ones (perhaps especially silly pointless ones). So, if this one is truly and validly doomed to die, please take it to the gallows for it to be judged. Thanks. —BozoTheScary 03:03, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

I like the idea of merging it into the A&F article, but that may be quite a challenge to sell and to execute. Thank you very much. —BozoTheScary 03:15, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

You nominated an article for deletion at [[1]], and I voted to delete. However, two people have voted to keep, one an IP with no other contributions, and one a single-use account with no other contributions. Is there a way to alert the authorities that something fishy is going on? Yandman 07:07, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 22:06, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Crys,

"Interracial" is the old definition (black/white) and doesn't mean "multiracial". However it's a fork of List of Black/White people and should be merged back in. There were several forks like this and I kinda forgot about them until you brought up the AfD. Thanks. ColourBurst 00:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I apologize on the behalf of my peer's so-called "fun". Oh, for the Ed Gein edit, please refer to NinaEliza's discussion, since she did the change. However, I'm curious since I was able to receive the message and I have never searched UCC before, if Wikipedia (or someone, I'm not sure how the banning works) bans the address, does this mean that anyone using the school's network will be able to go onto Wikipedia?

Advice requested

Hi Crystallina. I've been attempting to overview and tidy up the geography cats which involve the places where people live. There appear to be two useful ways of doing it - by region, and by size. Organising by size is difficult because User:Hmains uses the term settlements to cover all sizes of communities, and has altered dictionary definitions [3] to fit his own understanding of the term - [4]. However, community appears to be the term used most often to describe the places where people live, regardless of size. This is the definition of community - [5]. Hmains has reverted much of my work, and insists on settlements being the term we should use - basing it on this decision, which was a declined proposal to rename Settlements by region to Populated places by region. What do you think? Is settlement the appropriate term for covering human communities ranging from well established cities down to refuge camps? Is Human community a viable alternative? Are there other choices? I have started a discussion here and here, with the above wording, but no response as yet. I have left this message on the talk pages of active Geography Project members. And then on this page. I am a bit lost as the best place to discuss this issue. I don't want to delete or rename any category. And I don't want to get into a revert war. I'd like an open debate to reach sensible consensus. I'm now leaving this message on the pages of WikiProject Category members. Can you advise? SilkTork 20:00, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Sarah Brightman - free images

Oh boy. My usefulness in terms of this topic ends beyond having access to some periodical archives, I'm afraid. (And from that, I don't think any of the people who paid $750 for a private photo op are going to relinquish their snapshots anytime soon... I hope that isn't an indicator of how common personal photos of her actually are, though.) –Unint 22:18, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I've seen plenty of personal photos but usually they're photos of her and someone else, which aren't the best option. I guess I keep bugging the people at the forums. Crystallina 22:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
There is, however, a way to solicit your request in the article itself: Wikipedia:Fromowner. Just put Image:Replace this image1.svg in the infobox. Of course, this will orphan the fair-use image you have in there right now. –Unint 23:22, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Thermaltake edit

Hi, I noticed you added a test phrase "abcd , test page" in 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Thermaltake&oldid=41202282) on ThermalTake's page which was never removed. Somehow I can't seem to find the phrase when I try to edit the page... this is odd...

Musical Theatre

Hello. As a longstanding member of the Musicals project, would you please weigh in at the discussion at the New Girl in Town article's talk page. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 18:18, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. I don't think anyone is denigrating stub articles: It is great that the editor is starting a lot of articles, and I was initially happily excited when I saw that he had done so. The problem is that the editor deletes information (infoboxes, synopses, character/cast info, references, etc.) from existing articles and consolidates what is left into an unbroken block of text at the top of the article. His intention is to do this to all musical theatre articles, which would be a tragic loss of information to Wikipedia. He also tries to prevent other editors from expanding the articles that he has created or edited (and on Wikipedia, persistence usually succeeds). He disagrees with the guidelines at WP:LEAD and the other manual of style guidelines and states that he rejects the article structure guidelines at the musicals project, since the editors who created the guidelines are no longer active. So I think it is a serious problem. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 16:58, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Pedro Marin

I just wanted to say thanks for the clean-up help on Pedro Marin (the Spanish singer), an article I originally wrote. You made the article look much nicer and better organized! Plus you removed the flag about the article "not meeting Wikipedia's quality standards," a flag put there with no further guidance. I am new to writing and editing Wikipedia, so being flagged had puzzled me because the article seemed long enough (how much can you say about any pop star?), and I had cited references and listed sources. So just a big thanks for cleaning it up and putting things right.--Bayonett 11:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the edits. People sure do like to use the word "very"! Notability of Richard Bouvri

A tag has been placed on Richard Bouvri, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Videmus Omnia 14:47, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
