By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

You know, you don't have to have a username that looks like an e-mail address. You might want to look into renaming it. — nathanrdotcom (TCW) 00:06, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aren't you Jerry D. Coleman's brother? You say so in Mysterious America... Seriously, it would be really helpful if you would explain your edits. Zagalejo 05:49, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, Parapoliticology is up for deletion. If you want to keep it in Wikipedia, go here. Zagalejo 05:57, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'd prefer not to give you my e-mail address. Just leave a message on my talk page. If you're not his brother, then just explain why all of my sources say that you are. If you are his brother, then there is no issue. I don't understand why this has to be so secretive. Zagalejo 17:39, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not the same person as Redwolf. You sent a message to someone else who had posted on my talk page.
You are allowed to edit a page about yourself, as long as the edits are unbiased, verifiable, and encyclopedic. It's not your personal page, though, so don't turn it into a hagiography, and don't erase verifiable facts unless you have a good reason to do so.
Let me say this: I'm not out to get you. I just want to make the article as neutral and informative as possible. I grew up reading your books - I've actually purchased three of them - so, in general, I would consider myself a fan of your work. I'm just a little unnerved about your attempts to cover-up the info about Jerry D. Coleman. Zagalejo 15:48, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orang Mawas article

[edit]

Are you Lauren Coleman? Maybe you shouldn´t write about yourself and your websites in Wikipedia articles. The additions to the Orang Mawas-article look suspiciously self-promoting and uncritical. --Danielos2 13:30, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No need to write about yourself and your websites in Wikipedia articles

Reply from Loren Coleman:

I still don't know how to reply except to do it this way. I really don't understand if this message above is from an editor at Wikipedia or not, but isn't it okay to contribute the names of new books I have written on subject discussed? I find that I put a lot of work into updating and correcting info on my bio entry, only to go back and see that it all has been erased. What is wrong with mentioning books, and other data that has occurred in 2004-2006 in the outdated entry on myself? I'm not trying to self-promote as much as having specifically current data there.

If I am one of the primary researchers and authors writing about the Malaysian Mawas, I just don't get it if my contribution to a new "stub" is so easily dismissed.

Perhaps I am not understanding something about the community of Wikipedia. Sorry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lcoleman@maine.rr.com (talkcontribs)

I may have sounded a little bad...This is from me Wikipedia editor, ForestH2. When replying use : and add one every time you reply. If there is a article about your books please add your knowledege. For example, if you wish to put your info into the Harry Potter articles it would be removed immiedatly. You must make sure that info is put into the correct category. If it's on your self giving me the article, I'll watchlist it and revert anybody doing nonsense things which it sounds like they are. Daniels02 or someone, told me to give you a warning so I did. Please keep editing. Your doing a great job, I didn't understand at first. ForestH2

Loren Coleman, I reported you to the administrators since I considered your edits to not be in line with the Wikipedia principles. Sure, you can mention yourself and your books if it has relevance to the articles, but to me many of your edits looked like you were trying to promote yourself, your websites and books. Wikipedia is an encycklopedia, not a commercial site or your personal site. Please contribute to cryptozoological articles, but write unbiased and without self-promotive comments. Regards. --Danielos2 05:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
