The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Awards in ledes

[edit]

I have reverted you several times but I suppose I should explain this in greater detail. The lede, more commonly called the lead, is governed by several principles and manuals of style. The general one is Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section and there is a sub-section, MOS:INTRO, that states,

The lead section should briefly summarize the most important points covered in an article in such a way that it can stand on its own as a concise version of the article. The reason for a topic's noteworthiness should be established, or at least introduced, in the lead (but not by using subjective "peacock terms" such as "acclaimed" or "award-winning" or "hit").

and your adding "Grammy-award nominated" to two articles goes against that. The other manual of style that would apply is WP:OPENPARA, and that starts by saying, "MOS guidelines for lead paragraphs should generally be followed", and it links back to Manual of Style/Lead section. So that is why I keep reverting your addition of that phrase to the lede. Welcome, and keep making improvements to Wikipedia. Walter Görlitz (talk) 08:06, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

July 2018

[edit]

Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Jeremy Lin‎‎ appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 09:56, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Hawk Nelson, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:57, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
