Irish names
[edit]Please stop removing these. Consensus is that they be included, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Ireland-related articles). Also Irish is a recognised minority and regional language in the United Kingdom see this link. In actuality, English has no official status in Northern Ireland. - European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages
- English is and always will be the principal language of Northern Ireland being an integral part of the United Kingdom, it is not a minority language and therefore requires no speacial obligation.
- However, the United Kingdom declares, in accordance with Article 2, paragraph 1 of the Charter that it recognises that Scots and Ulster Scots meet the Charter's definition of a regional or minority language for the purposes of Part II of the Charter. --78.33.101.58 (talk) 01:03, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
