Coraopolis Railroad Station
[edit]For Coraopolis Railroad Station, why did you replace a reasonable image of the train station with one that is low resolution and has heavy geometric distortion? Is there something wrong with the other image? Also, there is no need to use an image in the infobox as well as later in the gallery. Is there something wrong with the other one that I'm not seeing? I switched back to the older image for now. Generic1139 (talk) 21:41, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
The current Coraopolis Railroad Station photo is nearly eight years old and is no longer representative of the state of the station as renovations have begun. The image I posted was shot this morning. It is unmanipulated and straight from the camera. Perhaps what you are reading in the image as distortion is a function of the lens used to create it, a Nikkor 24mm. I inadvertently uploaded it as a thumbnail. I will re-upload the high resolution image and leave it out of the gallery. Thanks!Crolinson (talk) 01:49, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I am familiar with distortion caused with wider angle lenses, and also with how to frame and process the image to reduce distortion. (top image) Unless the current state of the station is with half of it leaning to the left at a 20 degree angle, this is not a representative image. On the other hand, maybe it is leaning. (bottom image) Not trying to give you a hard time here, just striving for the best images we can provide the readers. Verticals should be (nearly) vertical. - Thanks, I'll edit to the protocol and update the image.Crolinson (talk) 04:50, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Much better. And tick the chromatic aberration box next time too. You've got blue/red CA, visible lots of places, especially on the roof line on the left, and around the white signs. Thanks for the improvements. Generic1139 (talk) 05:06, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
