Re: Signing on Sandbox?

[edit]

The history on your sandbox page shows nothing from the bot If you still have problems, please contact me on my talk page, as I less frequently read comments from the bot's talk page. --slakr (talk) 16:48, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that's because it's in the "User talk:" namespace. Most sandboxes are in the plain-old "User:" space. If you'd rather the bot not sign that page, you can do one of several things: visit the bot's user page for opting out methods ("entire page" might be what you're looking for); or, simply keep non-talk pages in the "User:" namespace, since the bot will automatically sign all pages and subpages in the various "talk" namespaces, but unless explicitly told to, it won't sign non-"talk" pages. --slakr (talk) 17:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you go to Aug. 13, 2007 you will see attacks on a few Wikipedia editors. http://www.nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/ I see you protected the page, why? --CrohnieGalTalk 13:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no clear consensus about Attack Sites. Aren't you following longish discussions at ANI?
I protected the page as per WP:PROTECT#Content disputes. Please have a look at it. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 22:36, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your quick response. I will take a look at the link you supplied in the morning. I do have a couple of questions if you don't mind. First, isn't an external link that slams editors automatically deleted? Also, I though blogs were not allowed, are they? Thank you again. --CrohnieGalTalk 22:45, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Well, the thing about Atk Sts is that Wikipedia, as always has been the case, never generalize policies or guidelines. Wikipedia gives much weight to a case-by-case analysis. It means AtK Sts does not apply to all because if we'd apply it we'd be ending up w/ thousands of blacklisted sites just because some of our editors had done something odd and that the subject is not happy w/. So what we do is judge cases on a c-b-c basis.
Re blogs. It is highly discouraged to use blogs as external links. BUT it would be insane to not use them when they are the main blog of the bio in question. It is like having a bio of Sarkozy w/o a link to his blog. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 23:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So in brief, in delicate situation we use common sense. In other words, we discuss it at the ANI and see how people would judge that particular situation. Please read this thread about Michael Moore.
As for the protected version please read The Wrong Version.
Again, thanks for your concerns. Much appreciated. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 23:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again, I will also check out the other links you supply in the morning. I need to eat dinner now and get to bed. Crohn's can be a pain! Thanks, --CrohnieGalTalk 23:08, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A koala bear for CrohnieGal.

Thanks for the smile, and in return I am honored to give you this adorable (but apparently kind of sleepy) koala bear. Cheers, and thanks for all the encouragement :) --slakr(talk) 18:31, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox vandalism

[edit]

I've blanked the page. I can't actually delete it, because I'm not an administrator, but if you put a {{db-author}} tag on it, an administrator should delete it for you soon. It looks like you somehow copied and pasted a lot of content from the Wikiquette alert page onto your sandbox's talk page. In any event, let me know if I can be of any further use. Sarcasticidealist 14:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's perfectly fine - it is, after all, your sandbox. I'm glad you have things figured out. Sarcasticidealist 17:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Need your input

[edit]

Hey, I had a quick look, but couldn't seen any edits by anyone else. Who has a problem with it and what did they say the problem was? It seems like it's your sandbox, so as long as there's nothing blatantly out of line on it, you should get to do what you want. Anyway, give me more background and I'll see if I can talk to them about it. Peace, delldot talk 17:12, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also confused - I don't see any evidence of anyone messing around with your sandbox at all. (In response to this edit) — KieferSkunk (talk) — 17:21, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry it looks like I accidently copied the things to my sandbox when I was just trying to copy one thing. Sorry for the confusion and inconvience. --CrohnieGalTalk 19:06, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. :) — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:24, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks you are so kind. I have seen you about and love the way you behave. Keep up the good work and happy editing! --CrohnieGalTalk 20:20, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Glad everything worked out, definitely let me know if you need anything. Peace, delldot talk 20:58, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just want to thank everyone

[edit]

Thanks to all of you who have emailed me with such kind words and helpful suggestions. I am still taking off but I want to say thanks to all of you.--CrohnieGalTalk 11:45, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated above, I have changed my mind and I am staying. I try real hard to be kind and learn and get help when needed by some wonderful editors here.--CrohnieGalTalk 16:21, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you're going to stay! --Ronz 17:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, glad to see you suppport me staying.--CrohnieGalTalk 17:33, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't let the shallow minded people that enjoy the negative aspects of USENET to stop you here at Wikipedia. Let's face it, if certain editors would like to ever come back, their behaviour outside of Wikipedia will be examined in great detail I'm sure. And the behaviour they have exhibited is not becoming of making this place better. As has been stated elsewhere, we cannot maintain civility outside of Wikipedia (and frankly...who wants to...) but we can sure as hell maintain it here. Glad to see you are back though. Shot info 07:08, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Shot, I appeciate your note. --CrohnieGalTalk 13:00, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
