Welcome to wiki. I've tagged your first edit as needing additional citations. It is very interesting. But don't you think boarding schools have always traditionally been a place to dump children? Fiction-wise it has been documented in such diverse works as the 19th century's Tom Brown's School Days to the 21th's Gossip Girl (novel series).
