OK, this may be difficult, but I want you to find every cultural reference again, copy the link of the image and link it from the page. This will be the "citations" those wiki guys are looking for. I posted an example in the "Literature" section. - SPKx 13:38, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Hey I wanted to tell you that while your admirationship for the webcomic is admirable, it doesn't belong here in an encyclapedia so when we vote delete we're not saying that it's a useless article but rather it's one that doesn't belong in wikipedia. One of the factors that caused me to vote delete was that I didn't understand what the article was trying to say and I doubt any non fan of that paticular comic would eithier, this is important because visitors can hit the "Random Page" button and possibly come across your page and that type of thing could really be confusing. So yeah I just wanted you to no where I stand Deathawk 22:15, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Final Fantasy articles
[edit]Hi! I caught your edit over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Final Fantasy on the subject of individual character articles. I've responded to your comments on the project talk page, but I wanted to expand on it a little here. Articles about fictional creations are kind of a tricky area, here, but the general rule of thumb is that, as a general reference encyclopedia, Wikipedia's primary goal is to provide enough basic information about a subject to inform the uninitiated, while not overwhelming them with a level of detail that would only interest a diehard fan. In addition to WP:NOT, there are a number of other guideline, policy, and essay pages that deal with this: Wikipedia:Importance, Wikipedia:Fancruft, and WP:FICT. Moreover, one of the stated goals of the Final Fantasy WikiProject is to ensure that the information we include regarding the series really belongs in Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Final_Fantasy/Style). This isn't meant to scare you away: we welcome your contributions to the project. But the kind of detail you advocate is really more suited to a specialized site like Wikibooks or the Final Fantasy Wiki. – Seancdaug 04:50, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- You continually confuse the issue of "popularity" with "notability": they are not equivalent terms, and I would ask you to please stop insinuating that I have ever suggested that a given character deserves an article simply because that character is thought of more fondly than any other character. Bill Clinton may not be as "popular" as Ronald Reagan, but both are well-known, influential, and important figures. On the other hand, a character like Matoya is simply not as well-known (or notable) as Sephiroth.
- The number of fans of a particular game, again, isn't really the issue, as Wikipedia is not a fansite. Not everyone who has played a Final Fantasy game would qualify as a "fan" in the way we are using the term. The total audience for the pre-PlayStation era titles is many times smaller than the total audience of the post-PlayStation era titles. By any reasonable measure, games from Final Fantasy VII on up are more familiar to the general public, and have had a greater influence on popular culture than games from Final Fantasy VI on down. It is a mistake to judge the impact of a game based on its internet fanbase, because such groups are self-selecting and skew the numbers. I can, however, offer sales figures, Google search results, and appearances in subsequent games all of which would suggest that the later titles are simply better known, and have had a more significant impact, that the earlier titles. This is not bias: I've been playing the Final Fantasy series since the first game was released in North America, and my two favorite titles are Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy V. Nor does it imply that any and all information (fancruft and all) is fair game for Final Fantasy VII on up: if you'd care to look at the relevant talk pages, you'll see that there are regular discussions about what is and what isn't fair game for the later titles, and you'll also notice the large number of post-Final Fantasy VII articles listed on our "to be merged" list. I feel that you're seeing conspiracy theories where there simply are none. To suggest that we "ignore" the pre-PlayStation games is, frankly, ludicrous: Final Fantasy VI is undoubtedly our strongest article, is one of the very few articles we've put forward for the Wikipedia 1.0 project, and is our best prospect for featured article status in the near future.
- As for the Final Fantasy Wiki... I'm not sure what you're talking about. It is running MediaWiki, and is part of the Wikicities project. It is, to be sure, nowhere near as active as Wikipedia itself, it's far from moribund. I contribute semi-regularly, and it averages ten to twenty edits per day. Plenty of room to grow, to be sure, but there are plenty of people there. – Seancdaug 07:27, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- The thing is, notability is more than a gut feeling. Quite simply, more gamers are familiar with Selphie than are familiar with Terra, because Final Fantasy VIII was played by a lot more people than Final Fantasy VI. By that same logic, Selphie has a stronger claim to cultural significance than Terra (though I admit that I'm not sure either character has a particularly strong claim). As it is, it really isn't an issue of what character "deserves" an article, because there are really no more than one or two characters in the entire series who have had any sort of significant cultural impact outside of the gaming community. Ideally, most of these articles would be merged into lists. It isn't a contest: that Vincent Valentine has an article while Bartz Klauser does not does not mean that we're showing favoritism to the former character. The reason many of these individual character articles exist is because, in their current form, they're too long to fit anywhere else. Many character articles have been pared down to be merged into a list: this was done, actually, for Kefka a few months back, in response to frequent complaints that the individual article was riddled with fancruft. Having pared the article down to size, it became managable enough to fit into List of Final Fantasy VI characters. For all the complaining about the fact that Kefka Palazzo does not exist as a seperate article, no one has bothered to try expanding the list entry to the point where it needs to be placed into a seperate article, nor have their been any serious complaints that the list entry lacks necessary information about the character. Per Wikipedia guidelines, article size management really is the only reason to have individual articles at all (with the exception of a handful of special cases, like Cloud Strife or Sephiroth, who might qualify as reasonably significant cultural figures outside of Final Fantasy VII... and, even then, only barely). – Seancdaug 17:52, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- I can't help but feel that I'm repeating myself, here. "Legitimate" (i.e., true) information is different from "relevant" information. One could write hundreds of pages on any given character, all of which is true and factually verifiable, but none of which serves the needs of a general interest encyclopedia. Most individual character articles contain little more than a restatement of the story of the game, which should never exceed two or three paragraphs, and approximately one paragraph of gameplay information, which quickly devolves into strategy guide material if it grows much beyond that. – Seancdaug 20:58, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Quite frankly, I resent the implication that I have ever accused you of bias. I have not. Ideally, "perspective" should not enter into this discussion at all: if we're going to claim that a character is notable, we need to be able to cite evidence of that notability. You've chosen to ignore me the past four times I've said this, but the simple fact of the matter is that a game that has sold over 9 million copies almost invariably has a larger impact (and, by association, cultural notability) than a game that has sold 3 million copies. This is why a character like Tifa Lockhart has an article while Mesia (major character from the NES game Crystalis) does not.
- Even so, you're right in pointing out that selling a large number of games does not automatically make a game, or its characters, notable. It is not, as you say, an "absolute test," though it is a reasonable signpost. Nevertheless, we should also be able to point to other factors to support any claim of notability: the fact that Cloud, for instance, was featured in a cross-promotional tie-in with Pepsi, and has had more cameo appearances in other titles than any other Square Enix character. Obviously, Cloud is the most extreme case, but we should be able to point to similar information for every character article.
- By and large, though, I have no argument with your list of characters (though I'm not certain that either Rinoa or Garnet are particularly notable outside of Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX, respectively, and I think Vivi probably deserves an article more than either of them, if only because of the large quantity of Vivi-centric merchandise out there). And, to be honest, I wouldn't even go that far. My primary goal, at this stage, is to prevent the number of character articles from growing much larger. In the long term, I'd like to see many of the articles that currently exist get merged into more general lists, but I've always advocated move gradually towards that goal. – Seancdaug 04:50, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for this very late response, but I agree fully with your last note on my talk page. Ideally, I think we should increase the number of links to more specific Wiki projects: provide links from List of Final Fantasy VI characters to finalfantasy:Kefka Palazzo and so on. And I also agree that the post-Final Fantasy VII character articles should not be expanded any further, and that most should be trimmed down substantially, with an eye to merging them, as well. I think the bias against such articles for pre-Final Fantasy VII games you've commented on is really something of a fluke: Final Fantasy VII articles attract a lot more attention than Final Fantasy VI articles, and, generally speaking, it's a lot easier to do things like merging and redirecting when you're dealing with three or four dedicated editors than two dozen irregular contributors. The goals remain the same, but the process of attaining those goals moves much more slowly. – Seancdaug 18:49, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

New York Jets
[edit]I have a feeling that our New York Jets are going 10-6 and possibly making noise in the playoffs.Silversword55 22:40, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
I noticed you dumped the old armor list on FF Wiki.
[edit]I apologise. I didn't realise this would offend. I thought the information would be useful, and I couldn't see anything like it currently in that wiki. I wouldn't have put the information on if I didn't think it would help improve the wiki. Obviously it's not in a good state right now, but it can be improved. I thought my edits would be useful and I'm certainly not in the habit of dumping WP articles, failed or otherwise, on FFWiki. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 12:38, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia and other stuff
[edit]I've read some stuff on Uncyclopedia, and I think it's quite funny (mostly). And I also like rock music. Way to go! My favorite band is Further Seems Forever. They are kind of a new band and I see you like the older bands. Have you had fun with Uncyclopedia? Also how do you compare it to Wikipedia? Robot569 19:18, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Crono Trigger
[edit]Would you like to collaborate on making Chrono Trigger and FA? I have some thoughts on ways to improve the article, based on my extensive analysis of video game FA's, and having tried to push Final Fantasy IV to FA status, and gotten that one and Final Fantasy (video game) to GA status? Interested? Judgesurreal777 07:11, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Wikibooks Transwiki
[edit]- Hey there! You said I can transwiki my FFX pages to your Wiki.. Is it the Wikicities FF Wiki ? Can you give me the link ? I'll be glad to have a "home" for my FFX stuff that has more than just FFX stuff! Thanks!!! Renmiri 14:58, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- That would be great, thanks !!!! Renmiri 16:14, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Already got started :-) but I have a question: Can you do Special:Import on there ? Cause I exported all my pges from Wikibooks with Special:Export and saved them here so if you have access to it (usually Sysops do) it would be much faster to add them all at once by using the Special:Import page Renmiri 13:45, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Concerning Maranda
[edit]I quickly looked over your list of FFVI terms, and it's a well done page, but I thought I'd let you know that thing about Maranda being torched isn't in reference to the city itself. It's a lot clearer in the Japanese, but Cyan was referring to the surrounding countryside; homesteads, plantations, etc. Not the city itself. Remember, things on the world map aren't set to scale, and the idea is that these countries are a lot bigger than what we see in the game. Just compare Vector in-game with Vector from FMVs for a nice example of how things aren't really set to scale.
Anyway, again, good job. I'm quite impressed. Ryu Kaze 18:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the way it's worded in the article is "the city of Maranda," which implies only what we see in the game, but the way Cyan worded it is "the country of Maranda." And the city itself, of course, is fine. I'd just change the wording to "nation of Maranda" if you can't think of anything better. Hope that helps some. Ryu Kaze 19:36, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia - don't know what to do now
[edit]I am finally an Uncyclopedia person now, with the same name. But when I logged in the search was "broken", and it said "fatal error". So I can't search for stuff. Has that ever happened to you/ Robot569 13:15, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

FF Wiki Forum
[edit]Yes it is easy to have a forum if you have access to the Web Host. Just install phpBB which is open source. I'll be glad to help you with that.
- Alas, you don't have access to the web host at Wikia, do you ? In that case, you can a)ask the Sysop there and see what options are available, b)try to use talk pages as a forum or c) Get a web host.
- Im not sure you want to bother with option c... It would be a differnt URL and possibly a different look and feel. But if you do want to pursue it, I'll be glad to offer you a spot on my site or you can get your own relatively cheap. My host goes for $7.95 a month and there are even cheaper ones! Renmiri 14:31, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- phpBB:
- Download the latest version (2.20) from here [1]
- Get access to Unix and copy the unzipped stuff to a folder
- Add a database for phpBB, and change the config file accordingly
- After that it is pretty much like installing a wiki
- But you want to do some special skins for your forum. Let me know when you get to that point, or even before if you have questions. You can do a "dry run" at my site if needed, so you feel confortable doing it live at Wikia Renmiri 18:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Config.php:
- You would open it with Notepad++ or Word (saving as txt), but nevermind... I was confused. You just need to follow the installation instructions: unzip, upload, run it from an url. It should do it all by itself. Let me know if you run into problems.Renmiri 21:08, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- How did it go ? Do you need help with the forum skins ? I'll be "around" tomorrow, look for me at MSN, ok ? Renmiri 00:06, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, come right over! This is the URL for their hosting plan [2]. But you can even host it for free at my existing FFproject hosted server :) Renmiri 18:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Since it will be at ipowerweb, I'll be able to give you lots of help, I can even set it up for you. If you opt to do it at ffproject.net I can help even more. Let me know how / what you are going to do ok ? This weekend is great but I'm about to get really tied up with family coming to visit, so let me put you in contact with my co-admim at my forum, Aurons Ghost - he will be glad to help you with phpBB ( aghost at ffproject.net - please delete after reading ) Renmiri 18:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Chrono Trigger images
[edit]Which article and which images? I have noticed someone deleted some Magus pics from Magus' article, but have been working in the Album WikiProject and had not checked for other articles. Note that, in order to qualify for Fair use, the images must be used in the article, and not just decoration. In the Magus' case at least, the images were deleted because they were being used as decoration [3] which is really right. Remember that the article must talk about the image, either describing or explaining it, otherwise it won't qualify as Fair use. -- ReyBrujo 16:40, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Also, Fair use images can't be used in a User page, you should delete them from your User page. -- ReyBrujo 16:42, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm... That would take quite a lot of time. You need to find the source from where the image was picken. Or find a replacement and inform about from where you took it. I advice this second approach, as it is virtually impossible to find the same image around. In the instruction manual, page 7, there is that image about Lucca, but is not a scanned copy. Note that reuploading the image once it is deleted is considered disruption, which is not taken kindly. -- ReyBrujo 18:09, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- First, if the article wants to become Featured, it is better to have no images than images with source, license or fair use rationale problems, see the fourth criteria. As for the images, you can link to them by adding : before the Image, in example, [[:Image:Goldmoon.jpg]] will produce Image:Goldmoon.jpg while not inlining it, which is completely fine with the Fair use criteria and enough for you to link to images you have uploaded. Quoting the 9th Fair use criteria policy (emphasis mine):
Fair use images should be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages.
- Hope that clears that matter. -- ReyBrujo 22:15, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I think I can certainly look over anything you write and try to help it read better, im afraid im not personally familiar with this game, (I've only played X and X-2) but it looks promising. FF6
[edit]Most of the current information in the two paragraphs can go under a "backstory" heading, with a 3-4 paragraph summary of the plot the key inclusion. Currently, the actual plot itself has only about 1-2 paragraphs of coverage, which will lead to some oppose votes from the inclusionists. - Alright, cool. Everything on the FFVI page has gotten fixed now except for the Development and Gameplay sections (only glossed over the former and absolutely refused to look at the latter up to now; I hate Gammeplay sections XD). Final Fantasy IV
[edit]Hey there. Long time, not talk. I'm signed on to help bring up the status of the Final Fantasy IV article. I found an excellent reference to the information regarding the differences between versions of the game (it can be found linked on this page). The author states on the FAQ that he'd like to notified if his FAQ is linked to on other webpages (in this case, our reference section). Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting into contact with him, as he's apparently no longer a student at the University of Pennsylvania, and the only other person by his name told me I had the wrong person when I contacted him. So, I'm wondering if it would be okay to go ahead and use it since we won't be quoting from it directly (we already have our information, we just need to source it) or if there's a list out there that's comparable to this one. Any thoughts? ~ Hibana 00:29, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- Here is a link that provides the Game Boy Advance script. It's truer to the original Japanese dialogue. What else do you need help with, exactly? ~ Hibana 01:32, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I just thought they were a bit more relevant since it's the most updated version of the English dialogue and Square Enix's "official" translation. I trust you've quoted a fan translated version (or maybe you're own?) of the SNES script since the names are consistent and there's no evidence of censorship. Adjustment needed
[edit]Hi, I responded to you at arbcom...you need to make an adjustment to your comment. Thanks.--MONGO 07:22, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
I just logged into Unencyclopedia for the very first time...look like Wikipedia. I looked up User:MONGO there and sure enough, someone seems to have used my username here as their username there. You can ask them to do a chekuser on me there and I will provide my IP here if that will satisfy you. Thanks.--MONGO 08:05, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

I can't really seem to find any gramatical errors. Could you tell me where exactly they are so I can fix them? Sir Crazyswordsman 16:59, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- I fixed the problems in the section you pointed out, and the other editors agree that it doesn't really need much more copyediting. Sir Crazyswordsman 17:50, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your prompt reply. I have responded on the FAC page. Kaldari 18:10, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the quotation marks, the Manual of Style recommends "logical" quoting: "When punctuating quoted passages, include the punctuation mark inside the quotation marks only if the sense of the punctuation mark is part of the quotation ("logical" quotations)." What this means is that if the puctuation mark is part of what is being quoted, include it inside the quotation marks, otherwise put it outside the quoation marks. So instead of:
The world contains both an "Upper World" and an "Underground."
you would write:
The world contains both an "Upper World" and an "Underground".
Hope the makes sense. It looks like the quoting is correctly done in most of the article, but not everywhere. Kaldari 23:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- I guess that makes two people who follow logical quoting on Wikipedia; I thought I was alone. — Deckiller 01:59, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
Final Fantasy IV
[edit]Much better looking already, but I meant to format it the way it was originally (after removing the Chronicles infobox, of course), with the infoboxes placed on alternating sides (the first to the right, the second to the left, third to the right, and so on). If you try this out and find you don't like the look, I'll support regardless, but I do think it'd be much better looking this way. --Tristam 00:12, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I really appreciate your help. The main thing, as you sighted, is a vast copyedit down to essentials, and then referencing. Then, a bit of character creation expansion. I am not very good at sorting what we need in this article at the moment, so if you could just lead the way with hack and slash, I will copyedit, and help find references. :) Judgesurreal777 23:04, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
- That would be good I think, I have been wondering how to source this video games section, as there are no models to use for this article (no video game fictional FAs). Judgesurreal777 02:34, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]On the contrary. I'm talking about stuff like Final Fantasy bestiary, not articles like Terra Branford and Terminology of Final Fantasy VI (which is a concept, along with Spira (Final Fantasy X), that I actually said we should use). — Deckiller 00:12, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, we're not trying to merge everything into one article; on the contrary. We are trying to make our coverage of Final Fantasy on Wikipedia succinct and well-sourced, something you have already done well on Terra Branford and Terminology of Final Fantasy VI. For instance, the Bestiary's new version will provide an overview, notable monster sections (cactuar, tonberry, a section for other notables without a lot to write about), references, see also, external links. In essense, we're turnings lists into encyclopedia articles, and consolidating what dosn't belong. — Deckiller 03:47, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
BENSON IS BETTER THAN YOU!
[edit]Hey it's BENSON. I was waiting for my ban to end, and I came across your userpage. Congrats on all the crap you've done here. When I used to be on Wikipedia I was too lazy to do anything important. Anyways I better go, I'm probably embarassing you in front of your Wikipedia friends.
- I... I AM BLESSED! THANK YOU, MY LORD! JUST SO YOU KNOW, WE STILL ARE PULLING FOR YOU. DO NOT LEAVE US. WE PRAY EVERY DAY FOR YOU. Sir Crazyswordsman 01:23, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- BENSON promotes you from puny monkey to BENSON's prophet because of your defending BENSON on Uncyc, and making up cwaaaazy excuses as to his banning. Until BENSON's ban is up, I shall communicate through your talk page on Wikipedia. Tell those ugly BENSONites that yes, BENSON made the sock puppets. Here's how it went down: BENSON was bored and decided to see how long it took Uncyc admins to figure it out. It was never about getting the picture featured. The picture isn't even that great. BENSON had gotten bored of Uncyc and wanted to test the admins' limits. That is also why BENSON went on IRC and lied about stuff (*NOTE: BENSON is not actually in high school, it was part of BENSON's holy lies). I wanted to see if the admins were stupid enough to believe me. Give the admins some credit from BENSON in the form of 5 BENSON dollars (redeemable at any BENSON Discount Store) for banning me. BENSON thought they were too incompetent to catch me, but they proved me wrong (although it took them a week!). BENSON didn't expect a 1 month ban though (only a couple of days), so because of that, BENSON won't be back to Uncyc until Jan. 7. TELL THOSE PUNY MONKEYS TO HAVE SOMETHING NICE TO SHOW ME BY THEN! Preferrably, a day to use that snazzy BENSON reskin they've had for a while. THE THIRD COMING OF BENSON SHALL COME ON JAN. 7, 2007! Don't stop worshipping. And remember, BENSON IS BETTER THAN YOU!
- I SHALL PARLAY THIS MESSAGE TO ALL! Sir Crazyswordsman 22:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- One last BENSON-related thing for today: can you please edit my userpage and take off AAAAAAA!! (off of my list of people who messed with BENSON, and BENSON is plotting his revenge)? AAAAAAAA! never messed with me. He's a wannabe BENSON-hater. Tell him I said that. He hangs out with the cool BENSON-haters, that's all. And tell everybody to celebrate the 30 DAYS OF NO BENSON as their new winter holiday. And on the last day, BENSON shall return, and hand out candies and presents for all the monkeys who have enough time on their hands to keep worshipping BENSON for 30 whole days. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.113.186.64 (talk) 23:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC).

Re: Please don't delete images without fair use rationale
[edit]If I don't, someone else will. I agree with your sentiment, and there were instances when I added a rationale to images used in compliance with Wikipedia policy. This was a borderline case, as the image was a sprite of a minor video game character. If Wikipedia articles, even lists, were to contain a copyrighted illustration of every character to appear in any Final Fantasy game, the whole article would become a mere gallery - a game guide that infringes on the rights of publishers who license such content, and fulfilling a role that Wikipedia policy specifically disavows (see WP:NOT#IINFO & WP:NOT#LINK). Note that the decision to delete was not made with any prejudice to your contribution, it came as a result of a pragmatic reading of policy. If you have any questions, or wish to formally appeal the decision to delete, please let me know. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 03:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I was curious, what materials are you going to use to Spirafy the article? I could help! :) Judgesurreal777 05:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Fanatics.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Fanatics.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

You stated in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Square_Enix#SMRPG, “ In order to feature this, we need List of Super Mario RPG characters and Mushroom World (Super Mario RPG) to be created. I prosified the embedded list of characters, and it still needs lots of links. As a result, we need these articles.” Well, I just created List of locations in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (but, we're probably going to rename it to something like Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario RPG) pretty soon, since it's a world article now, instead of a list). I need help expanding the Creatures and races section, but any help would be great! Do you think you could help? Thanks in advance! Taric25 16:58, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
WPFF
[edit]I find it fascinating that the project has now lost two longtime contributors (the other one would be me) over the mergist steamroller they've become. I understand the frustration expressed on your userpage completely. I've considered trying to talk to them about the fact that there's growing dissatisfaction among others, both within and without, over the mergism and deletionism espoused by the project, but I've found the general attitude there towards dissent to be discouragingly dismissive when it's not downright condescending. I just wanted to post a note of support. You're not the only one. -RaCha'ar 19:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Heh. Thanks. Ren left, too. I feel like this place is becoming a horrible, horrible place for Final Fantasy reference. You haven't signed up at my Wiki yet, have you? We're always looking for newcomers. And it's not a piece of crap. There are on average more than 100 edits a day, although most of them fall within European business hours. --Sir Crazyswordsman 21:40, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't yet signed up at your Wiki, no. The thing is I'm not a passionate FF player - certainly not enough to get into the kind of detail that the FF wikia gets into. I've played almost all of the games but I'm just not into them enough to work extensively on articles. I joined the project because of Final Fantasy XI and trimming down the character class pages - both of which I've worked on extensively, and my work on the latter has been all but destroyed. The former is pretty much intact, only because nobody else in the project plays or cares about the game and therefore, they've been pretty hands-off about it.
- Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I'm not going to be much use at a detailed FF site. I was working here so I could get the relevant overview information about the FF series here on the main Wikipedia - and I agree with you that it's becoming a horrible place for that. They're mistaking a necessary level of detail for triviality, and if I have to hear "out-of-universe information" used as a blanket excuse to merge and delete everything they can get their grubby hands on again I'm going to shoot myself. I'll check out your Wiki though - seeing as most of the stuff I've ever worked on has apparently gotten transwiki'd there anyway, if what the WPFF says can be believed... :) -RaCha'ar 11:28, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- We have a policy against transwikiing, which used to be it was "strongly discouraged" so that good, original articles could be written from scratch and we didn't have to look like a bunch of thieves. But now I'm thinking of prohibiting it entirely just because of the way Wikipedia articles are written aren't suitable for an indepth Wiki like mine. --Sir Crazyswordsman 11:40, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is hilarious to me, because the most frequently cited justification for getting rid of all the "trivial" information in the articles here on Wikipedia has been that it's all getting transwiki'd so people can find the information elsewhere. I had no idea this wasn't true. I'm now even more livid at everything that'd been removed from Wikipedia by the project. What a freaking mess. -RaCha'ar 13:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

- Please take the personal attacks away from Wikipedia and to another medium. Also, I provide wikilinks to many Wikia pages and categories, where the detals are available, and I even transwiki material sometimes, if it's not on the Wikia. Becuase a lot of this is already covered on the Wikia in more detail, which means all that's left is providing wikilinks to the various character or creature categories to usher people to where details belong. I'm promoting "your" Wikia, so the least you can do is show some mutual respect to Wikiepdia, which is meant to provide an overview of the series, not a shrine for fans to enjoy that can substitute playing the game or help to play the game. — Deckiller 14:03, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Don't leave!
[edit]I was just noticing your deleted userpage, and you have been very productive here at wikipedia, you have barnstars, friends, so many things you wouldn't want to throw away. In fact, the reason I have become a mergist is because of the presence of the Final Fantasy wikia where you are also, and you could really help make sure that none of this content is lost. I would have totally opposed cutting these articles if there weren't a FFwiki; in fact, with my favorite book series, Lone Wolf (gamebooks), I had to start my own wiki to save the 70+ articles I originally wrote for Wikipedia! So, don't leave; lets make sure that in the process of getting to all GA's at the wikiproject, anything that needs to be trimmed finds a new home. Judgesurreal777 02:08, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Homestar Runner stuff
[edit]Hey, how are things? What've you been up to lately? With regard to the Homestar Runner characters, I do not remember being the one who merged all those articles, though I did support the idea. And I will equally support getting an admin to resurrect some of them if we can establish there indeed are many references that would fill out one of the deleted articles. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 03:02, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've been okay :) Been mostly managing the FF Wiki. I know there are a lot of interviews that have all kinds of stuff in them (like, for example, the fact that Strong Sad is the hardest voice for Matt to do). The HRWIki has transcripts of these interviews, and I think they link to them directly. --Sir Crazyswordsman 03:23, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- If you could that would be awesome, it was supportive but not happy with the merger as I had hoped there there interviews out there somewhere, and if we could do some concept and creation stuff we could have a solid article on our hands. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 23:29, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- I wish I could help, but I don't know Japanese. Also, try putting it up here. Isn't there a group of translators here who can help? There should be. This place draws more than the people you'd expect. --Sir Crazyswordsman 01:01, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Woodstock redirect
[edit]...is turning into a little edit war. Not good. Sorry. List as a dispute? Not that experienced with handling wikipedia-ish things other than just adding content here, and um, since you were involved a while ago and know more about Wikipedia than I do - care to help me out and tell me how to proceed with this? Please? Cayafas (talk) 13:27, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]Hi, it's me, Drake Clawfang. I'm sorry to bring this up here, but I want to talk to you privately without "others" sticking their noses in.
Seriously, on the FF wiki, why isn't EG banned? He vandalizes, it proud of it, causes trouble, insults the staff, and uses sockpuppets. I don't want to tell you how to do your job, but why haven't you banned him? The Clawed One (talk) 19:04, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Magicite.PNG
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Magicite.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 15:15, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I would love your help with this article, it is right up your alley. I need your help to put this one over the top, I got FFXI today, so please help me find some references for this if you can :) Judgesurreal777 (talk) 05:17, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Chrono Trigger
[edit]Well, the earlier the better. I'll nudge Raul if it's not around in 2 months to ask when he'll schedule it. The anniversary is nice, but with Google trends showing interest in the Chrono series slowly waning, I'd like to put some life in it asap. ZeaLitY [ DREAM - REFLECT ] 19:05, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I know how you can do it. Follow Starmen.net's example. Start a Chrono Siege of Square. Have Chrono fans send in cards of fanart and have them call Square reps demanding to know when Chrono Break will come out or when we'll see a CT port for the Wii or DS. --Sir Crazyswordsman 20:51, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Magicite.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Magicite.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
