[edit]

Though we stand on different sides of the various Rand issues, you have shown considerably more integrity than the other students of Objectivism. In particular, you have reverted certain changes that you clearly agree with but understand to be, at best, premature. For this, you have earned my thanks and a measure of respect. Reversions

[edit]

Hello - you left a message on my talk page about an hour after I performed significant number of reversions related to Michael D. Wolok. There are a number of users who have expressed a concern with those reversions. I have some more details at the bottom of my talk page which you are most welcome to read. In the meantime, given the number of comments I received, I am not sure if I will be able to personally address each of your concerns. However, I hope that at least I am able to convey some sense of accountability and resolution here. Thanks again for taking notice. --HappyCamper 03:10, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there,

[edit]

I guess anything I write to anyone can be reverted at any time. I wanted to bring my issue to the attention of all advocates and moderators in the hope of finding one that understood what I was trying to do, agreed with what I was trying to do, and had the time to help. I also wanted to get more editors with intelligence involved in the article.

I think it is your loss and mine, that my original communcation to you was reverted. You may or may not be interested in Hugh Everett's Many Worlds Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics, and the addition I want to make to the article.

I seem to have entered theAuthentic Matthew mess! I used http://pedia.nodeworks.com/A/AU/AUT/Authentic_Matthew/ (a big mistake)! I am not able to defend myself against DocUser:-Ril- etc! Would you please look into this very bad situation --MeBee 03:04, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A short Esperanzial update

[edit]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he minds

He'll have a fit if you in any way place any new text within his post. I responded inline to Alienus one time, and I might as well have killed his parents for the reaction I got. Just letting you know. (I see nothing wrong with what you did of course, I'm just reminding you who you're dealing with.)MrVoluntarist 20:45, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Belgariad

[edit]

I linked it and the first book of the Dreamers back, because every other book by Eddings was set up that way, I was trying to be consistant. Didn't realize that you were expanding those sections. I put the comments about it in the Eddings talk page, since I infobox'd and messed with most of the books' pages. PresN 22:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "You removed all the images... which qualify under WP:Fairuse#Images with the comment "Removed images without detailed fair-use rationales." Could you please explain what you mean/want? I've noticed that images of this character have been removed before and in my opnion it is fundemental to the article to identify the person with a picture... so if there's somthing I could do to make the images stick, please let me know. I've temporarily reverted you because I think it is that important to the 'pedia to have these images."

All copyrighted images must have a detailed fair-use rationale and this is clearly spelled out by the license. See this bit on fair-use rationales. At the moment, these images are copyright violations but I'll let them stand because it is likely that at least one can be justified properly. --Yamla 16:07, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for putting that template in. As the sole editor of the article, I never would have found that, or, rather, it wouldn't have gotten on the page anytime soon. --Columba livia 19:59, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. Why change the image?

[edit]

Hi, Crazynas, I'm just wondering why your bot is changing this image back to this one on all the subst'ed sockpuppet templates. I wasn't the one who changed to the Star.gif version, but I liked it and found it appropriate, so I can't see the point of programming a bot to undo hundreds of these changes. I'm not complaining, and I'm certainly not thinking of changing back, but I'm just wondering why. Cheers. AnnH 10:48, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your prompt reply. I agree that it's more professional to have them all the same (but I still prefer the Star.gif one). Cheers. AnnH 11:25, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Your Warning

[edit]

How can you warn me of vandalism when I am trying to uphold wikipedia's standards? I told this user many many times that he cannot copy paste articles from other locations into wikipedia, he refused, I told him that he cannot put origional research on wikipedia (the NOR policy), he refused, and i told him that he cannot use articles written by pan Turkish websites on wikipedia! Are you an admin, because you should know the rules, I am right here, and I can get other admins to support me, because these three reasons are all based on wiki policy. Thank you. Please reply to my message. Also I would like to tell you that we did discuss this on the talk page, and me and three other users came to the same conclusion. This user is alone in his efforts of putting POV into articles. Other Users agree with me, I am not the only, its just that I am the one making sure to revert articles so that they are up to wiki standards. Here is the article now: [1] now was I right in doing what I did, I think so. Now here is the site that the user got his information from [2], does it seem credible to you? notice the grey wolf in the background, the symbol of pan turkists.Khosrow II 03:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

TBP Deletion Review

[edit]

This article was first started by me and was deleted back in May '06. I was reading the punk house article and saw that the link for the TBP article was no longer red so I clicked on it and there was an article back up, started by another user. I dont know who started it because, it was deleted soon after I saw it. The decision made in the "Article for Deletion" debate should be reconsidered. The article is about a punk house not a fratenal organization. It seems that the debate, run by User:ChrisB and results were reported by User:Mailer Diablo. I will post this on their talk pages. This is the first time I have requested a deletion review so please let me know what else I need to do. If there is anything. I am on wikipedia frequently and I want to learn. Thanks. September Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!

November Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

about your warning

[edit]

Um.....excuse me, but... why did you revert my edit to Justin Chambers? I reverted the line the person added("This man is freaking sexy!") because it is an opinion and it shouldn't have been there. I believe you've made a mistake. DragonBlazer57 00:28, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Objectivism, Ayn Rand, and homosexuality

With all due respect, the article is sprotected without notice, which I believe is against the rules. I tried to edit it without having logged in and I was not able to. Hello Crazynas. Recently, I saw that you reverted a copyedit of mine as vandalism. Could you please explain your logic behind this? Thanks in advance. With regards, AnupamTalk 04:51, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:68.3.204.181&diff=cur

I was just counter-vandalizing. Someone put something stupid at the top of the Norv Turner page, I changed it to an insult to that person. I know this is wrong, and I'm sorry, but you should know that the page you kept reverting to was a vandalized version, saying " Paul Stein is very excited about Norv taking over for his favorite team - the San Diego SUPER Chargers!" I think this is just as much "nonsense" as what you told me to stop adding. Also, how do I get rid of that "You have new messages" thing? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.3.204.181 (talk) 05:26, 26 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Nathaniel Branden

[edit]

Hi,

You might be right that one shouldn't remove a cite. But that cite was to the cult book and there was, and still is, no mention of "not accredited". In other words there was nothing to be sourced - it was a cite, that for the moment, had no content. And, remember that my sources were both deleted multiple times. I've tried to tell CrCulver that his source shouldn't be used because it is a very biased source - the ones I left in its place were the school itself and the state of california (which got lost in the reversions). You are right that NONE of this should be on Branden's page. Take a look at the note I left under yours at User:Pia's page. Steve 07:57, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You'll notice that the cult book cite you put back in doesn't go anywhere. There is no reference section. The reference section, which I put in a while back, was wiped out in one of CrCulver's deletes. Now, you click on the ref icon and.... nothing. That cite should be deleted. The name of the school is an active and working link to the school's own article and all of the stupid and mostly misleading but technically accurate info is there. Steve 08:06, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright:

First, just because the reference doesn't lead anywhere doesn't mean we should get rid of it that's a technical issue. Second, My issue is with #4 that talking about the status of the school is to much information for this article (which goes against having the school source in there at all), I thought that the Jeff Walker cite was for the entire paragraph about Branden's credentials, not just the status of the school. Third, NPoV is about articles, not sources being balanced, the source itself is legitimate (not a self published book).

Crazynas t 08:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Crculver has once again done exactly the same thing. He ignored the discussions you, Pia and I have been having and just put the "is an unaccredited institution" back in. Steve 17:22, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Crculver has returned and put the "unaccredited school" stuff back in the article (I then reverted it). But if he won't respect the compromise that we reached earlier where we moved the statement about approved but unaccredited to the footnote, there is no reason for me to not edit all mention of the school's status out of the article since I have believed it to be wrong from the beginning - and just a sly way to take a cheap POV shot. Any ideas on how to enforce the compromise?

Hi Crazynas. Thank you for the message on my talk page. I answered on the article's talk page instead, in order to keep the discussion in one place. Best wishes, Pia 03:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
