Kosovo cities infoboxes
I see that you and a few more users are edit warring over the infoboxes' contents. Would it be an acceptable compromise to not mention subdivision type at all? That is, neither "province" nor "country". Nikola (talk) 13:33, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Since you are saying that niether serbia nor kosovo should be mentioned then how come you are instead listing both ?
Kosovo as a province and serbia as the country--Cradel 13:43, 23 February 2008 (UTC)- I'm not saying that neither should be mentioned. I suggested that Serbia is mentioned as the country and Kosovo without mentioning whether it is province or country. Nikola (talk) 22:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Names in Kosovo
Based on UNMIK Regulation 2000/43, the names of municipalities, districts, cities, towns, villages, etc., in Kosovo should be in the order Albanian/Serbian. The regulation (in English) can be found here: http://www.unmikonline.org/regulations/2000/re2000_43.htm . Please, distribute this link to all the Kosovo-related talk pages, where there's controversy regarding names. Thanks!--Arbër Let's talk 09:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a battleground
Re. this and similar edits: Wikipedia is NOT an ethnic battleground. Your attempts at systematically mobilising fellow Albanian editors to fight for an ethnic cause is disruptive to our project. If that's what you are here for, this is the wrong place for you. Also, I notice you were using an offensive ethnic slur to refer to editors of another nationality.
In a 2007 arbitration case, administrators were given the power to impose discretionary sanctions on any user editing Balkans-related articles in a disruptive way. If you engage in further inappropriate behaviour in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article ban. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 10:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I never offended other editors , I just expressed my thoughts , if that is not allowed here I wont do it again . And also note that wikipedia isn't always reflecting reality , I am only trying to encourage other albanian editors (not to "fight") to expand albanian-related articles on wikipedia . And one more thing : we arent the only ones here (Im not denying we also do this) that "ethnically fight" , what about the other editors , are we the only ones who deserve to get punished ?
Please note that I am only expressing my thoughts and that is all this is.--Cradel 11:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Kosovo stub types
Hi Cradel - please see the note at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting/Proposals/2008/February#Kosovo_stubs. The proposal was only for templates for now, not for separate categories. The templates should stay upmerged until it's clear there are plenty of them (then they should be proposed in the same way). Grutness...wha? 23:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Concerning your userpage
Assuming that the same IP that vandalised the Free Kosovo userbox template also had a negative intent when editing your userpage, I took the courtesy of reverting the IP's edits. If I am mistaken in my perception of the edits in question, then I apologize in advance. Comandante Talk 23:07, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Kosovo issues
Regarding this edit of yours, I am certainly prepared to discuss outside of edit summaries, and avoid revert-wars where possible. You refer to Portal:Palestine. I admit the case is somewhat comparable. You will note that the article featured there is State of Palestine, which ostensibly does have a flag. Now you will also note that State of Palestine is a redirect to Proposals for a Palestinian state, which sports both the Palestinian and the Israeli flag as "negotiating parties". Applying this to Kosovo will mean we redirect Republic of Kosovo to Proposals for a Republic of Kosovo and display both the RoK and the Serbia flag there as "negotiating parties". No problem with that. As long as you feature the Republic of Kosovo (not just "Kosovo") at Portal:Kosovo, I will also have no objection to the flag. All of this should be a trivial consequence of WP:NPOV, and I don't see why I have to spend time pointing it out in detail. Please show some good faith and try to grok a situation without making people spell it out to you. dab (𒁳) 18:16, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

I have just joined the Kosovo Wikiproject!
Hi there! I see that you are an active Wikipedian and, obviously, edit a lot of Kosovo topics and are a member of the Wikiproject. I want to inform that I have just joined the project, too. I am not a Kosovar my self, but am interested in and attentive to international issues and want to share information and learn more about this historical moment. I'd like you guys at the project to read my article National anthem of Kosovo and perhaps help me to get involved in the project. I am a new Wikipedian, eager to help, especially this project because of its importance.Rayhou (talk) 21:35, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Re : Kosovar WikiProject
Thanks for the warm welcome! To answer your question, I live in Finland. That makes Kosovo a special subject to me as well because of the Ahtisaari plan, but as I said earlier I am generally interested in international matters. I try to keep it as neutral as possible, but I guess I can just wish you good luck and congratulate you on behalf of your newborn country! At the moment, the only help I'd need is someone to read some sources in Albanian that contain info on the anthem process and update the article if anything additional is found. I might need language skills on this topic later on as I do not know any Albanian. Anyways, I can help you, too. If there is anything I could do, please let me know. Rayhou (talk) 17:17, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Kosovar passport
Kosovo has given information on its passport. Wikipedia seems to have an article on every country's passport (e.g. Finnish passport, Canadian passport, Indian passport and so on). Kosovo has one too, but it needs to be expanded:

ALL HAIL!!!
TO INDEPENDENT KOSOVA!!!
But the international comunity is makin double standards. They give independence to Kosovo and not to Vojvodina. I pray that this is a good step to liberation of all former Yugoslavian teritories. We have lived under Serbian occupation since 1988, this Belgrade-dictatorship has got to stop and only an Independent Vojvodina is the solution. --BanatFree (talk) 21:39, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. How is it going? There was a complaint from User:Jovanvb about reverting you two were doing on the {{Municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo}} template. Just to remind you, if you revert an edit saying this was discussed, you should explain where was it discussed, preferably do it on the talkpage. Reverting isn't very helpful, both of you should also have 3RR in mind. And concerning the topic, I see that there are two templates and that all the municipalities names are in Serbian, I would expect bilingual names. Was this discussed? Anyway, I think Municipalities of Kosovo is acceptable since the municipalities were there before ROK as well and they didn't change with declared independance, correct me if I'm wrong. Greetings. --Tone 17:48, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- The reason I reverted User:Jovanvb's edits is because this user didn't discuss these changes with other users before editing , he only placed a note saying it was POV so he is removing the flag and coat of Arms for NPOV (as well as the name ) , even if this edit was neutral it should have been discussed first, right ?As for the bilingual names : they were bilingual but User:Ev removed them ( see the diff here ) , cheers --Cradel 17:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

- No joke this time. Is true. Czech Rep and maybe Macedonia are expected to recognise. There will be a lot of pressure on the countries who haven't recognised at the summit. But who cares, as long as they recognise Kosovo, thats a good thing. I have big interest in Kosovo, becuase during the war, some Kosovars came to the UK. My dad is part of a First Aid organisation, so some Kosovars stayed with my family for a few weeks. So that will explain my interest in Kosovo. What is Kosovo physically like now, compared to Serbian rule? Ijanderson977 (talk) 11:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds really bad. I'm glad Kosovo is independent now though. Its never really been under Serbian rule, just Yugoslav and UNMIK rule, not actual serbian so they don't have real claim to Kosovo. Ijanderson977 (talk) 18:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip! I just love those flag icons and it's nice to know how to make them with minimum work. I try not to use them too much though(my user and talk pages are an exception, it's my right to spam them with flags).

Message regarding revert
Its so beautiful to see such a great interest in the formation of a Montenegrin language from such a diverse crowd! (that statement bordering on sarcasm/passive-agressiveness, yes, I know). Consensus isn't really there as you indicated - really just a bunch of unfinished arguments. I will agree that the preferable form is "Montenegrin/Serbian", but not "Montenegrin/Serbian Cyrillic". The Montenegrin language article states that the MNE-language is preferably written in the Latin alphabet rather than the Cyrillic. The article on Podgorica has used "Montenegrin/Serbian Cyrillic: Црна Гора". It would be less intra-article-contradictory to use the Latin alphabet for the "Montenegrin" portion while retaining the Cyrillic alphabet for the Serbian portion. The result would be "Montenegrin/Serbian: Crna Gora/Црна Гора". Naturally, it would be best to be as factual as possible (i.e. exclude politically-fabricated languages; by the way, I'm writing in Americanish).
This politicolinguistic schisming reminds me of the most admirable quality (from a cultural perspective) of the Albanian people. Regardless of separation over various political entities, religious denominations, and the presence of two dialects, you all maintain a common identity with no threat of cultural division. Quite admirable. Your actions (contributions on the Wiki) suggest that you desire to see the realization of intensified cultural division among the Serbian people. It also seems that you hope to increase the likelihood of your witnessing this occurence by promoting the usage of a political fabrication. Why is it that you desire for further fragmentation of Serbian cultural identification, rather than perhaps supporting its unity, or at the very least maintain neutrality on the matter? I imagine the answer would be due at least to a strong detestation of Serbians. I suggest that you refrain from making edits on topics where your logic and objectivity will be compromised by your emotions.
Final note: my original edit was a poor one and meant to reflect info from the MNE language article. The second edit does this in a much better fashion. And to the array of stickers/notes that you have on your user page, you should add: "This user supports the independence of Sandžak", "This user supports the independence of Šumadija", "This user supports the independence of the Torlakian linguist region of Serbia", and "This user supports rapid population growth as a means of achieving irridentist goals".
Please excuse grammatical/spelling errors - my concentration is in Biochem. Gkmx (talk) 04:13, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Your response is appreciated. Thank you for your agreement with my edit. I'm sorry about being a bit harsh. Regarding the additional letters in Montenegrin, I cannot say. I only know that it is a proposition of some sort. Gkmx (talk) 14:43, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
