- I do not understand why File:Hub Productions Logo.jpg was deleted. I am new to this so I assumed I had chosen the wrong licensing in the first instance so I uploaded the image again. Before I uploaded it, I clicked contest speedy deletion. It did not give me the option to do anything further and once I uploaded it, there was no speedy deletion warning shown. I have permission from the copyright holder to use the image for the article. What do I need to do to use this image? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpt schnookums (talk • contribs) 12:46, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Did the possibility occur to you of changing the licence terms in the image description? Look at countless other articles that contain logos and see how they have been uploaded with a fair-use rationale. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:54, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Quite obviously the possibility didn't occur to me. As I said I am new to this and had assumed selecting "The copyright holder gave me permission to use this work only in Wikipedia articles" was sufficient. Before uploading the image, I went to Wikipedia:Uploading images to see what I needed to do. As you can see, there in a note stating the article may be too technical for most readers to understand and I clearly fall into that category. Am I able to upload the image again, or will it just be deleted once more? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpt schnookums (talk • contribs)
- If you upload the logo with a proper fair-use rationale, it will almost certainly survive as long as The Hub Productions survives. But please uploade it in PNG format. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:24, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
