A tag has been placed on Beach FM, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Plasticup T/C 04:18, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of "Waiheke Radio"
[edit]A page you created, Waiheke Radio, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for companies in particular.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

University of Auckland, The National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries
[edit]Hey; I have (again) redirected this page; you need to show evidence of independent notability to justify its own article. Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 02:12, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ironholds - don't quite understand why the article has been removed by you again. While I do work for the organisation there are numerous similar faculty at the University of Auckland which have their own pages and which have been created by members of the university. This is a major faculty at an internationally ranked university, with some notable artistic alumni (which I have chosen to leave off the page). It is frequently mentioned in our national press and is made up of our most highly regarded fine art schools, one of the few university based dance programmes, and a nationally qualified school of architecture. Would appreciate some more information on what is not notable about this? Countrymike (talk) 02:20, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure; notability requires multiple, reliable sources to be present in the article; if those exist, please, add them in and I'll be happy to keep it around, but until they're added... Ironholds (talk) 02:41, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- You might also want to give WP:COI a read. Ironholds (talk) 02:42, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, i'll work on this a bit more, although not sure why this article doesn't actually get some notability from it's parent page University of Auckland. But ok. Will also declare a possible COI on the discussion page of the article. Countrymike (talk) 02:48, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks; see WP:NOTINHERITED, also. Ironholds (talk) 02:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- WP:NOTINHERITED seems to suggest that notability may be inherited from the parent. I still think I can improve on the notability of the article, but feel that a note to this end, rather than a sort of speedy deletion would have been more appropriate given the notability of the parent and the numerous child pages that already exist in this group. Countrymike (talk) 03:03, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sure; the base reason that "multiple, reliable sources" is part of the notability criterion is that all information must be referenced to reliable sources - the result is that even if notability is inherited by a school of a university the information there still needs citations to be included, rendering things rather moot. Ironholds (talk) 18:22, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Can you maybe help out with these articles...
[edit]They were created by a university class as part of their final grade/project, some of us were thinking the articles could maybe have a home at Wikiversity, but I need some guidance here. Can they be moved to Wikiversity, are they good enough, etc. (I understand the articles are now starting to be PROD'ed, probably as 'subjects failing notability'.) Please see discussion on User talk:Dennis Brown at Curious about some new articles. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 17:26, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Valentine Borremans
[edit]The article Valentine Borremans has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Former director of a defunct school for missionary and aid workers fails WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Vrac (talk) 20:58, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
