On the basis of your comments here I assume you were somewhat offended by my attempts to help the new article you created conform with wikipedia's various standards. I apologise for any offence I caused in doing this, but all material submitted to wikipedia is likely to be frequently re-edited and edited again and violate one policy or another untill quite some time after it is first submitted, before it is perfected. And even very old articles still receive lots of edits. Also, no material you submit to wikipedia is lost when it gets altered, as any changes can be reverted and the original version restored.Your hours of research and so forth were not "for nothing".--Tangent747 (talk) 19:25, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

What am I doing wrong for the Gregg Hotel draft? I've documented the history of the building as best as I could including references and what was requested by you in order to make the article publish worthy. I love history and want to see this hotel documented for future generations. I did not realize it would be this difficult to include a historical subject.

2/14/2020 02:24 a.m. I'm not sure if I'm responding in the correct manner. Unfortunatly the only sources I have for the hotel history is through old newspapers, phone books, and high school annuals. With regards to the details, I think it's very important when documenting history. You also mentioned that I would need to Remove Jimmy Ramsey's diary entry. I am Jimmy Ramsey and I was there each of those days so the diary quotations is first hand knowledge. I appreciate your critique but if I cannot include my own work (i.e my diary) and research that I have spent countless of hours in multiple libraries, museums, and online, and my work has to be scrutinized down to minor details then I'm not going to waste my time. I've downloaded a PDF so I do not loose the information. I will find another source to record this piece of Longview history. I appreciate Wikipedia and will continue to use it for research but I will no longer contribute because I do not have that kind of time to waste when I can put it into research efforts. I have two other contributions that are written in the same style with newspaper references and detail information but were published. They are Mobberly Hotel (Longview, TX) and Blackstone Hotel (Fort Worth). I've downloaded PDF copies of those as well because I am positive they do not meet standards that you outlined for the Gregg Hotel article.
