Hello, Cosmojharvis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. 2601:188:1:AEA0:C916:D06E:BD60:82B4 (talk) 22:17, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm 2601:188:1:AEA0:C916:D06E:BD60:82B4. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 2601:188:1:AEA0:C916:D06E:BD60:82B4 (talk) 12:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. 2601:188:1:AEA0:C916:D06E:BD60:82B4 (talk) 12:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- Again, please read the COI notice above, as well as our other guidelines. 2601:188:1:AEA0:C916:D06E:BD60:82B4 (talk) 12:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia. 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 14:13, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
HelloI'm (talk) I dont know how to reply to this but I wrote the 'lede' in question for the park avenue armoryu and it is a factual bio that cannot be altered even if it were re written it is not under copyright at all. Please stop stopping me from updating this page.
- That you wrote the original version doesn't help, not does it remove the copyright, promotional or WP:RELIABLE sourcing concerns. Users with WP:COI issues are discouraged from editing their own bios, but are encouraged to use the article talk pages to suggest and recommend changes. Please understand that a Wikipedia article is not a site to update or polish one's resume. Again, read the above policy guidelines. Thank you, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 14:33, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
- it should be added that WP:3RR is relevant--you may not edit war to add unsourced, promotional or copyrighted content. 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 14:36, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
understood and read. The words in the article are not subject to copyright as they are facts that existed before they were published. I am not trying to vandalize anything, merely trying to update outdated information about the subject of this page. Much of the information here is incomplete and does not represent the subjects full context to this date. To what degree should I alter the wording of the 'lede' that I wrote before it no longer causes you such a concern and you allow me to update the page in question with information that is undeniably true?
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Cosmo Jarvis. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:
- Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
- Please send an email to info-enwikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.
If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. NeilN talk to me 14:59, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
